PII 143: Commandment No. 9: You Shall Make As Many People As Possible TALK About You [10 Commandments of Web Marketing for Business Success] – FREE PDF DOWNLOAD + LIVE TALK OFFER

By finding creative ways to incorporate elements from virtually every area of society you have interest in, into your marketing content, you will dramatically boost your chances of drawing potential buyers, who would otherwise have missed you, into your “world.

That way they’ll discover you have something that can help them. That was exactly what happened with the diplomat I met at the Nigerian embassy (see the photo/true story in the article linked on the next page).

I did not go there to market my Excel-VB software or my Web Marketing service. But in the process of showing my Pineapple Peel Drinks and cakes, to him and others at the embassy, we got talking and he learnt from asking what else I did, that I offered those solutions!

PII 143: Commandment No. 9: You Shall Make As Many People As Possible TALK About You [10 Commandments of Web Marketing for Business Success] – FREE PDF DOWNLOAD + LIVE TALK OFFER

Your WMS (Web Marketing System), if developed and implemented the way I recommend, will get you noticed by persons fitting your target audience profile.

That does not however mean they will choose to talk about you to anyone. Indeed, my experiences indicate that lots of them will simply take action to connect with you, to get what they want e.g. the solution you offer.

You will have to go the extra mile to give them reasons to talk about you to others. In other words, getting people to talk about you is easier said than done.

This is especially as it relates to getting them to say something that boosts your name/brand recognition and credibility, thereby increasing potential selling opportunities for you.

In this 9th commandment, I offer experience based ideas you can use, and explain how to tweak them for optimal results.

[RECOMMENDED] Why are Nigerians fleeing Nigeria? – Quora.com responder says “Nigeria is the land of cunning people. I can’t cope because I have no cunning bone in me”.

This Quora contributor’s additional responses to the question of “Why Nigerians are fleeing Nigeria” perfectly captured my sentiments – especially number 2:

“Nigeria is the land of cunning people. I can’t cope because I have no cunning bone in me”.

In addition, the points made by 2 other contributors, one of who still lives in Nigeria (and therefore should know), are in agreement with the views I’ve expressed about the country’s future prospects.

It’s sad, but true. Unless a miracle of unprecedented proportions happens, there is NO HOPE for Nigeria or those who live in it.

In other words, I honestly do not believe they simply can ever change, for the better.

PII 140: True Story – “Tayo Solagbade – Steroid Man” [Authentic Success Leaves a Trail – 3 Key Attributes You Need to Achieve It]

This week, I share a verbatim reproduction of a “news report” that was “published” on notice boards about me at the end of my final undergraduate year, by a member of the PRESS team in my university campus hall of residence. This was after I’d led the hall’s Handball team to a first ever victory at the 1992 edition of the University of Ibadan’s Annual Inter-Halls competition.

Now this may appear self-serving, but my ultimate purpose for reproducing this piece (see photo below of photocopied version I obtained before leaving campus) is really to highlight key attributes I possessed back then, which helped me succeed.

Examples:

  1. works like a “steroid user”
  2. resilient attitude
  3. determined to hit the top, trained extra hard

tks-flow-report

Examples:

  1. works like a “steroid user”
  2. resilient attitude
  3. determined to hit the top, trained extra hard

The above were what the author commended me for in that report, and they have since helped me succeed repeatedly in every other area of endavour I have ever ventured, since leaving the university.

My message therefore is for YOU to understand that not only does authentic success leave a trail, but that achieving IT it in ANY field, will often require that YOU develop and actively use similar attributes.

====Start of 1992 News Report published on Independence Hall’s Notice Board=====

TAYO SOLAGBADE – STEROID MAN

[NB: U.I. = University of Ibadan]

He was once summoned by the Chief Coach of U.I (Handball) for drug test, but it was all a joke. Yes, he works like a steroid user, he is a final year Agricultural Extension “first class level” student, Abeokuta indigene of Ogun state. He is of the twenties bracket, a demagogue, pedant, patriot, agnostic, a primus-inter-pares, and he is not impious.

This young man, ever since he got admission into this citadel of learning, some five years ago, and out of his love for handball joined the Indy (Independence Hall) Handball team and was consequently invited to join the U.I Handball team (that was in his first year too). From them on, he has been consistent in the team and in his training too.

Due to his resilient attitude (after losing form for some years), and determined to hit the top, trained extra hard in camp, and this attitude towards success of his, earned him the (nickname) – STEROID MAN. His colleagues in camp, due to their laziness (would) not allow him lead any of their training sessions. Watch him in training and you’ll understand!

During the Inter Halls Competition (which Handball is an entry), Indy Hall has participated and never won despite having some U.I. stars amongst them. And this year was about becoming the one of those years until TAYO (SOLAGBADE) being in his final year, and determined to make lifting the cup for Indy a parting gift, and out of sheer determination, assembled some players together for early morning session trainings (constant early morning whistling heard by Independites is by him). This was consistently done for days and the end justified the means, as Kuti Hall was battered, Zik Hall (our terrorist for years) fell into the hands of Tayo (in fact, he scored the fastest, most spectacular “shocking” goal during the Indy-Zik meet) the hall of “LAME” inhabited by “Tedderats” refused to show up for the finals and so Indy won the Handball tournament (the only tournament won during the Inter Halls competition).

U.I Chief Coach Nwosu even commented about the Indy-Zik match saying (quote) “Indy played the match of their lives and Tayo was in his best” unquote.

[Note to reader: See my 2007 article titled “Become A Habitual Peak Performer – Learn How To Get Into Flow Or – The Zone More Frequently” – in which I narrate details of an experience I had while playing that match]

tks-flow-storyOK

Despite Zik’s delay tactics and importation of Papa (a good player from Lagos), Zik fell. Tayo was seriously “cut-out”, but due to the match plan he had previously, the job was left for Collins, Yomi Oduguwa, Kayode Abbas, Deji, Dicta and Bambo, not forgetting Bammy (Oh he was good), and they had the job perfectly done.

It is my surprise that after years of playing Handball for Indy and U.I., and being the only event won this year, due to the patriotism shown by Tayo (and the dedicated efforts of his colleagues) the Sports Commissioner and Indy exco refused to accord the Indy team its place during the annual dinner, making it a point for all Handballers to boycott the dinner. So that explains why Tayo and his colleagues were absent during award/recognition.

I look forward to a situation whereby Indy Hall exco should not be ingrates (especially Sports Commissioner), by at least making him realize his worth by organizing a send-forth or make sure that of the N30,000 generated by the exco, he is given a parting present.

I learnt he may come back for his Masters programme. By then Awo or Balewa should be watched out for. With him leaving us now (and maybe “as I heard” his eventually playing International/professional) Collins will now be bestowed the opportunity of seeing Tayo’s pet to constant fruition and maturity. Bammy too is not left out. Handball is now gaining prominence, being world’s second fastest game. TAYO (SOLAGBADE), Indy Press wishes you the best in your future endeavours. BRAVO.

[BPP] This 2016 Viral Video Sues “School” for Killing Creativity, Individuality and being Intellectually Abusive

[NB: BPP = Best Practice Parenting]

This 2016 viral video (Over 10 million views & 25k comments between YouTube and Facebook in its first FOUR days!) perfectly captures the essence of the message I’ve been preaching about the SERIOUS FLAWS in our Modern Schooling System that make learners’ exposure to it, insufficient preparation for success achievement.

Click here to download the slideshow

I only watched it for the first time 2 days ago (on 2nd Oct. 2018), but I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find key points, examples, analogies, and illustrations it uses are some of those I discussed in my 2018 published 62 page paper titled “Schooling is a Means to an End, and NOT an End In Itself” and the shorter sequel “Stop Letting Nigerian Schools Cheat You and Your Childe.g the quote about school “making fish climb trees” & references to Finland, Khan Academy, Montessori etc.

Click the link or the thumbnail image of the cover below, to download and read the verbatim text transcript slideshow I’ve prepared/watch the video at the end, to LEARN why you need to DEMAND TOTAL OVERHAUL of the School System.

prince-ea-on-schools-slideshow-cover

Click here to download the slideshow

TIP: Join my WhatsApp group to get download link to a mobile friendly MP4 version of the video you can watch offline (see instructions below)

Published as a Spoken Word Poetic rendition by the rapper Prince EA in 2016, this video boldly calls out the Modern Day Schooling System for its potentially “lethal” negative impact on learners.

This video explains why/how modern day schooling may hurt your child.

The compelling case made against today’s ANTIQUATED schooling system, uses a court room prosecution style against a symbolic representative of the schooling system (as defendant).

If your society refuses (or is slow) to eliminate those negatives, it’s up to you to protect your child from them and provide him/her what is missing from available schooling.

Only persons UN-willing to be objective will fault the arguments presented in this video… and in my White Paper/the sequel to it

Click here to download the slideshow

Like I’ve repeatedly said in my writing, on this theme, the harmful attributes of our schooling system, coupled with endemic corruption, drove me to (temporarily) withdraw my kids from the system, and develop/implement an alternative educational model, that I call a Vocational Skills Based Educational System.

My adopted approach involves use of a tool I call a “Life Skills Training Matrix” that enables me customize learning for each child, based on his/her unique needs, interests and talents/gifts, so s/he end up with useful competence to succeed in or out of paid employment.

Text me your WhatsApp Number via +234-803-302-1263 (not my WhatsApp no!) and I’ll add you to my Best Practice Parenting™ group where download links to my 62 page White Paper and the 17 page report sequel are accessible.

The Life Skills Training Matrix is a tool I developed to CUSTOMIZE education for EACH of my kids to ensure they actualize their full God given potentials in life by maximizing their unique gifts/talents.

I strongly recommend that other parents adopt a similar approach to ensure their kids get a truly balanced education that equips them to achieve financial and material success, with fulfilment in life.

For those looking for help, I offer a special Best Practice Parenting Coaching program for members of groups and organisations, in which I explain how to design a custom Life Skills Training Matrix for ANY child – or indeed ANY adult…and how to use it.

[TRUE STORY] Success Rarely Comes by Accident – You Achieve it Through Hard Work, Courage and Faith (With Persistence)

When man…is pushed, tormented, defeated, he has a chance to learn something; he has been put on his wits, on his manhood, he has gained facts, learns from his ignorance, is cured of the insanity of conceit; has got moderation and real skill.” – Emerson

The photo shown below, was taken at a time (September 2013 – 6 months after I relocated to Cotonou) when I had just emerged from one of the most challenging periods of adversity in my life as an entrepreneur.

ajayi-tundra-photo

I had been sorely tested…but thankfully, I got through it and achieved success, because I had been READY for the challenges that were thrown at me.

[TIP: I strongly recommend you read my December 2012 article titled “You Will be Sorely Tested” linked below. It offers elaborate insights into what I did to survive that trying period – including the powerful quotes from great achievers that kept me going when I had nothing left.)

You Will Be Sorely Tested [Over 8,900 views] click to read in new window.

When you go through hard times – especially one in which you lack access to money, shelter, food and friends/family that can provide help or support (as can happen to anyone when you find yourself in a foreign country, where you know NO ONE…like I did), it can be difficult to stay optimistic.

Your faith in yourself and in what you are doing (or trying to do) will be tested and you will be pushed to your wits end.

Ultimately, your ability to persevere, with courage, will be determined by the convictions you have.

This is often a time of true reckoning for many people that helps them gain clarity about whether or not they are in the right business or line of work.

For me, being able to emerge from that terrible phase of my life, with my vision for the future still firmly intact, was a major achievement.

I always knew I was on the right track.

Those experiences simply helped me confirm that my convictions were valid – and they even helped others, who had previously doubted me, become BELIEVERS along with me.

And some, today, are my most fervent advocates, who will go out of their way to give me support anytime I request it. Sometimes even before I ask them, they identify what I need and provide it.

But I strongly believe the story behind my being able to come out on top, from that potentially traumatizing experience is one that really needs to be told, because it can benefit a lot of people who may have to face similar adversity in their own pursuit of success, at some point.

Celebrating or remembering one’s breakthrough point is good, but I have learned to always offer to share experience based insights about WHAT I DID and HOW I DID IT, so that my audience can take something tangible away from interacting with me.

The TUNDRA jeep I was sitting in belonged to a Cotonou based Nigerian diplomat (now retired) who had hired me to develop a custom version of my Excel-VB driven Poultry Farm Manager for his farm in a South Western state back in Nigeria.

The driver had been instructed to take me down to Nigeria, to visit the farm for a few days and bring me back to Cotonou.

We had stopped on our journey from Cotonou to Lagos, to make a purchase, and I’d decided to have the photo of myself taken there (by him) as a kind of date/time marker.

It was actually my first visit back to Nigeria, six months after I first left the country to live  in, and work from Cotonou.

I had yet to see my family and was excited that we would stop briefly in Lagos, to drop off two full bags of shoes, clothes and edible goodies I’d purchased for them.

My fortunes had changed massively – from what had been my reality earlier in the year. But it had NOT been by accident.

How this opportunity (and others like it) came my way, just months after I’d had to intermittently sleep on the streets of Cotonou (and Porto Novo), as I repeatedly run out of funds in the initial weeks of my arrival in Benin Republic, is a story I’ve told ONLY few people.

I plan to correct that situation with a special PDF report giving a full account in the near future. Among other things, I will provide insights into how I kept an upbeat mental state, such that I as able to keep writing on my blog DAILY, even on an empty stomach for sometimes 4 consecutive days.

I made friends during that time, with total strangers, who had NO IDEA what I was going through. Today, most of them still DO NOT know I was ever in such dire straits.

I kept my own counsel. I knew what my goal was – and even hunger or lack of money or a place to lay my head could NOT make me lose THAT focus.

Blind, absolute/unquestioning faith, and a refusal to recognize failure (aka persistence), was all I had – and it eventually led me (as Napoleon Hill promised in “Think and Grow Rich”) to client-getting/money making success.

A few examples of notable successes I recorded are highlighted in the articles linked below:

1. No. 119: How to Achieve Success in Any Field (True Story) – this one, published on 9 December 2013, has been read over 26,000 times.

2. PII 100: What Are You Willing to Do to Succeed? [Hint: I Slept on the Streets of Benin Republic’s Cotonou & Porto Novo!]

PII 133 – Commandment No. 7 of 10: You Shall Test Your WMS Relentlessly & Ignore Nay Sayers [Features True Stories About Answers Given by Henry Ford and Robert Kiyosaki About What They Would Do, If They Lost Everything/Went “Dead Broke”]

This week I publish commandment No. 7 of 10 from my 10 part/10 week educational audio series titled “Ten Commandments of Web Marketing for Business Success“.

Commandment No. 7 of 10: You Shall Test Your WMS Relentlessly & Ignore Nay Sayers

Preview:

Preview: In this commandment, I mention answers provided by Henry Ford, and Robert Kiyosaki on separate occasions to questions about losing their fortunes.

Ford was asked:

“What would you do if you lost your entire fortune today?”

Kiyosaki was asked:

“If you lost everything, what’s the first thing you would do to come back?”

Both men, responding many decades apart, to these similarly themed questions, gave similar answers, which I’ve reproduced at in this commandment.  Kiyosaki’s response was much more detailed and provides truly powerful insights you will find useful.

At the end, I explain why/how the answers those two great men gave make it CRUCIAL you OBEY this commandment.

Especially doing what he does working in a very difficult socioeconomic environment like Nigeria (with erratic power supply and Internet connectivity), PLUS having to deal with the discrimination from some potential clients, due to the negative image of Nigerians created by 419ers?

Being the diligent student of success and human bevariour that I am, I have studied this chap for a while, since I first discovered him in 2014 or so. And here’s what my findings tell me:

1. He had exposure, very early in life to what is called TRIAL BY FIRE, and luckily for him, he USED it to build himself up for success.

Evidence that I’m right can be readily deduced from the following statement, he made in an interview published online:

“Losing my dad taught me a lot. It taught me tenacity: persistent determination. From the age of seven, other than God, I’ve had to do most things on my own; no fatherly support or resources to make things ‘manifest’ for me. As a result, I grew up being highly independent and persistent. A fighter of sorts, I grew up learning that if you want something, you demand and fight for it; and you don’t give up until you get it… because there is no dad who is going to give it to you. You either get it, or you don’t. For me, this lesson is more valuable than anything else a father could have given me. When I want something, I go for it… and I don’t give up until I get it. This tenacity is God’s gift to the fatherless, and I’m taking it with me all my life.” – Bamidele Onibalusi, Source: Losing my dad at 7 taught me how not to give up—Onibalusi, 24-year-old celebrated guest blogger/

Note to reader: I first wrote about this young man on my blog back in 2014, when an elderly Swedish lady who connected with me on Facebook told me that HE was HER idol. Since then I’ve written several pieces about him, a recent one being: Choosing The Right Role Models for Success Achievement – What to Look For [Case Study: 21 year old Ibadan-based Nigerian freelance writer/blogger, who earns thousands of dollars writing for international clients AND also makes money from a Catfish Farm Business he started 1 year ago!]

2. BUT  apart from exposure to trial by fire, he also did NOT have any OBLIGATIONS to fulfill that could have distracted him from maintaining his focus on doing what was required to achieve the success he needed.

This second factor is quire important – believe me. I know what it feels like to try pursuing success of this kind while having a family to support. It’s much more difficult!

This is why successful people strongly recommend starting as early as possible. And that’s why I’m supporting my kids to do just that.

Sadly, too many Nigerian parents do NOT understand the need for this.

They unwisely tell their kids to wait and finish school first!

Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, and many others including Robert Kiyosaki started long while they were STILL in school – and some even dropped out at some point to continue. Later, they came back and finished their schooling.

Now, it might interest you to know that the young man Onibalusi, is today sponsoring his own university studies using money he makes from his online and offline business.

Like I always say, if you lack money, there is a limit to how much formal schooling you can easily access in most societies.

So learning to make money as early as possible in life, can be to your advantage in so many ways. Smart parents will teach their kids to do it. There is just no better way to empower your child to excel in life as an adult.

It may NOT be conventional or popular to insist that your kids learn income earning vocational skills on a 50:50 basis alongside their academics, on a daily basis, for instance.

But the results you get, which will equip the child with useful real world relevant life skills that your child will OWN forever, will prove you right in the long run – and make your child grateful that you made him/her do it.

Successful People Say Making Mistakes Is What YOU Need to Succeed [FREE DOWNLOAD]

For over 25 years I’ve used the ideas I share in this short piece to excel – in spite of adversity – in EVERY area of endeavor I’ve ventured. You can use them too. Click the image under the following body of text to download it as a JPEG version you can read OFFLINE and even print/share to inspire others.

Buckminster Fuller once wrote:

“I know so much because I have made so many mistakes”

Very profound statement, based on deep insight.

Accomplished achievers who defied adversity to succeed, like Robert Kiyosaki have noted that MISTAKE MAKING and the sometimes resultant TEMPORARY DEFEAT (aka FAILURE) are necessary ingredients for authentic success achievement.

I have TESTED the above wisdom for over 25 years, first in paid employment and later self-employment, and found it works.

You become wiser by being willing to take RISKS to try new things you never did before, because doing so helps you LEARN what does not WORK, so you can narrow down to fewer options remaining until you do find WHAT WORKS.

By the time you succeed, you will KNOW MORE and it will show in the CONFIDENCE you display in relating with others.

You will boldly speak and act based on what I call STREET-WISDOM (aka YOUR experience based CONVICTIONS) and NOT textbook or armchair theories!

However, not everyone will LIKE you for that. Some will WRONGLY interpret your “confidence” as “ARROGANCE” and proceed to try discrediting you before others for that reason alone.

My attitude has always been to IGNORE the efforts of such people, even as I feel sorry for them for failing to grab the opportunity to LEARN what they can from me.

Indeed, anytime I encounter such people, I remember the following quote and smile inwardly, as they yap away:

“A person that does not know, BUT does not know, that s/he does NOT know, is a BIG FOOL” – Anonymous

PII 129: These Ideas Will Help You Defy Any Adversity to Succeed Anywhere, Doing Anything! [FREE PDF DOWNLOAD]

Even though I discuss this subject with specific reference to succeeding in business, the ideas I share in this 1,000 word (<5 min read) piece apply to achievement in ANY endeavour. I know that because I have used them successfully in paid as well as self-employment.

Indeed, for those who know me and have wondered how I have continually succeeded in achieving my goals, despite repeated visitations of adversity, what I share here provides the answers to your unasked questions!

First, let me begin with a quote I have always found powerfully insightful and inspiring:

“I have no special talents, and in high school I was far below average. I believe that the writings of (Napoleon) Hill sparked my rise, changing the way I thought about my inadequacies and removing many self-imposed limitations. I have no other explanations for the startling success of a person who had been so mediocre.” – James R. Cook, Millionaire Entrepreneur, in his New York Times Bestseller, The Startup Entrepreneur

cooks-book

You need to read Cook’s book (no pun intended) see it on sale here – to get a REAL feel for what he meant in the above quote.

But basically, the story in his book reveals how he went from neophyte entrepreneur, falling flat on his face many times for years, after quitting a salary job and starting a business without a business plan.

It provides elaborate details and eye opening insights what he went through and the lessons he learned about how to keep going, no matter what – until success is achieved.

Hear him…

“Like many others, I assumed that simply because I went into business, quick success would follow. I grievously under-estimated (and still do) the time necessary for a new project to get into the black (i.e. to make profit). Most of the difficulties I encountered couldn’t have been forecast; they always managed to catch me by surprise.” – James R. Cook

It is most often the repeated mistakes, setbacks and disappointments that many aspiring entrepreneurs in Nigeria experience that makes them abandon the idea of running their own businesses.

Many people in this country do not have the mental attitude needed to relentlessly pursue the achievement of sustained successes in their chosen endeavour.

During his active playing days, Michael Jordan was revered by his peers, coaches and fans for his “mental toughness”.

Fela Anikulapo Kuti was the same in his pursuit of musical excellence and human rights activism.

Time and time again he emerged from prison and/or nasty confrontations with agents of oppressive government regimes, especially during the military era, to continue preaching his message.
He had mental stamina, and this enabled him persist despite tremendous physical and psychological suffering he went through.

Gani Fawehinmi and Nelson Mandela also did the same in their respective lives.

It’s not enough to know how to do something; you must also have the mental stamina to deal with the attendant challenges/difficulties that will come up when you are engaged in your chosen endeavor.

Sadly, this requirement is not recognized in Nigeria. Yes, a sound understanding of the need for a success conscious mental attitude is missing in our society. It is neglected in all the various forms of formal/informal education provided in virtually every facet of our society.

This mental preparation is what is lacking when many people start up their businesses. They would often have consulted the right people, attended the right learning events, and mastered the technical aspects of running the business. But they often neglect…
