PII 100: What Are You Willing to Do to Succeed? [Hint: I Slept on the Streets of Benin Republic’s Cotonou & Porto Novo!]

How badly you want to succeed in any area of endeavour you embark upon, will often determine how well you eventually succeed, in the long run.

And since succeeding has been defined a “never ending journey of striving perpetually for excellence“, THAT means you need to (like I explained in the 10th Way described in my Self-Development BibleBE HUNGRY & STAY HUNGRY…for success, if you want to excel at what you do!
So what are YOU willing to do to achieve the success you say you desire?

Hopefully you are not one of those increasingly larger numbers of people who engage in the self-delusion of empty affirmations NOT backed by diligent and intelligent ACTION TAKING.

I refer especially to those who hide behind pretentious religious dispositions they display, to try winging their way to success.

Like I’ve said in past articles, and will continue to say, there are no reliable, worthwhile shortcuts to lasting, authentic success.
Majority of the exceptional achievers many lazy minded people regard with a mixture of admiration and envy today, often have a string of past failures that they had to relentlessly ignore, and overcome with hard work and persistence, in spite of adversity, to arrive at the success they enjoy today.

You most likely have read a variant of the above before. You most probably know the true stories of success achieved despite suffering and setbacks, about some famous persons.

Most people I meet know all of these things. But it always amazes me to find that despite reading and hearing about how those they idolize in success had to sweat, struggle and strain to reach the top, MOST of these same people express a shameless (and nauseating)  tendency to want the same REWARDS dropped in their laps, with little or no exertion required from them to get it!

But then again, that attitude, often displayed by many of the new generation of youths and young adults I meet, out here, is a direct fallout of the instant gratification culture promoted by PC and Internet technology driven conveniences we  enjoy in today’s modern world.

At the click of a mouse, one is able today to get things she would not even imagine possible about 2 to 3 decades ago.

It is for this reason, that today’s parents have their work cut out for them. Especially those who have to care for teenagers or preteens.

The teenage years are the most crucial determinant, of how kids will arrive adulthood.

If not well managed during this period, especially in terms of helping them to mould their CHARACTER, in addition to knowledge and skills they develop, teenagers can grow into adults who need outpatient care from their parents, because they lack the competence to function as independent adults when they leave home.

Strength of Character, is the ultimate key to lasting success in life.

Without it, most people would not be able to deal with delays, disappointments, setbacks, failures and anything else that goes wrong in their lives.

Such an inability to deal with adversity will make them more prone to experience what can be called PERMANENT DEFEAT – to paraphrase Napoleon Hill, from Think & Grow Rich, in which he described FAILURE as TEMPORARY DEFEAT.

But to help your child acquire an ability of this kind, you must have it, and your child must SEE you display/use it, if your message to him/her is to fully hit home with him/her.

So, do YOU have strength of character?

Can you deal with things going wrong, as if a storm is brewing in your life, for long periods, without giving up?

Have you had any experiences that have tested your faith in yourself? To the point that you (like people in my part of the world so often do) began to “believe” some enemy in your village or home town was using “juju” or “black magic” to make you fail or struggle perpetually?

If YES, then take it as a sign that YOU NEED to work on developing GREATER strength of character than you currently have. THAT is the only sure, time tested ANTIDOTE to permanent defeat and frustration. Once you have strength of character, NOTHING – and I do mean NOTHING can stop you.

But guess what the best part is?

When you have it, especially in the generous amounts that I have found it possible to develop it, you become VERY attractive to others who seek INCREASE in their lives.

You become a source of inspiration for them – they will see you and what you continue to do DESPITE the hardships you go through, and they will draw massive inspiration to pursue their own valued goals.

Take it from me. Like I always say: I practice what I preach. In other words, I LIVE this stuff! Below, I narrate a true story to illustrate

Back in April 2013, during my first month in Cotonou, after I relocated from Nigeria’s Lagos, I found myself in the very uncomfortable situation, by the end of my first week of stay (in the small and cheap Hotel Petit Pere, located in the center of the city), of insufficient cash to continue paying for a room.

This happened due to my arriving with limited funds and not being conversant with the exchange rate between the Naira and the CFA.

Typical of my entrepreneurial self, viewing the world through rose coloured glasses of optimism, I’d assumed i would easily find rented accommodation within the first week.

What I did not know was the real estate agents I kept going to would be so naughty as to repeatedly ask me to pay 2,500 FCFA to go see one supposedly “good” apartment after another.

They kept coming to pick me up from the hotel to go on visits to different properties to let, until I noticed a trend in which they took me to houses that were not even fixed up with electricity or water access!

When I queried them, they readily assured me those would be sorted soon as I paid up.

But a closer look at the properties, and a chance conversation with residents in the neighbourhood, soon revealed some of the houses were not even up for rent.

The agents had seen my desperation to escape from paying the hotel fees, and exploited it.

For those looking to rent accommodation, in Cotonou or elsewhere, this above mentioned potential risk is noteworthy.

You’re advised to find a trustworthy local to move around with you, especially as you explore offers on ground – and in particular when you discuss/negotiate terms with agents and property owners.

It goes without saying that you need to ensure you read, understand and agree with anything you are asked to sign e.g tenancy agreement (which in a place like Cotonou, is often written in French, for instance).

A nifty little book on the above theme (see cover below), written and published for sale to a global audience by Dr. Nana Arnold Kouayep, offers useful time tested experience based wisdom from his deep repertoire as a bilingual Jurist.

Too low on funds to stay in the hotel, I moved out and began visiting different properties with “A Louer” (To Let) signs in desperation, but unable to find anyone willing to accept my crazy proposal that I be allowed to move in and pay by Monday, when funds I expected would arrive

Soon it was nightfall, and I still had not found a solution to the problem of a place to rest/sleep. Carrying my travel bag and backpack, I kept walking from street to street, through areas around the Etoile Rouge roundabout.
On a particular street, I noticed a church building for what seemed to be an Anglican style church. The lights were on. So I went in, and seeing an elderly man around 65 years old, explained that I needed a place to stay for the night, having run out of cash to continue in the hotel.

Speaking kindly and acting concerned, he asked me a few questions, and I replied.

Then he asked what country I was from, noting that my spoken French lacked the common Beninese “flavour”. “Gabon?” he suggested. I told him, NO – and added “Nigeria”.

That would be my first experience of what I found to be a common negative attitude of some locals towards people from my country – “Nigeria“. His countenance changed almost imperceptibly,

But I did not miss it.

His next words were along the lines of: “Sorry, but I can’t help you. I think you should try finding your way, possibly to places where other Nigerians live, so they can take you in.”

I asked him where that would be, but he replied that he had no idea. However, I got the distinct impression that he simply could not WAIT for me to leave LOL!

That discouraging scenario would replay itsself at about 3 other places, until I got to a private residence around midnight.

There I saw a plump looking young man sitting on one of the fancy Cotonou motor bikes while chatting with a friend at the gate. I greeted them and explained that I needed help.

The same question and answer session as occurred in the previous places took place.

I was already thinking nothing good would come of it yet again, when he suddenly asked me to show him my passport, so he could be sure I’d come in with correct papers.

When I did that, and he’d satisfied himself they were in order, he said he knew a place I could stay.

About 30 minutes later, he’d dropped me off at an area around the Stade De L’amitie (the national stadium), where he introduced me to some private security guards, and explained my situation to them

Long story short, they agreed to let me sleep on the tiled outside floor of the shops they were guarding from that night right through the weekend, into Monday morning, when funds arrived at the bank, for me, from Nigeria.

I exchanged numbers with my new friend and he left for home waving backwards to me. “An angel sent by God” I said to myself LOL!

During that 4 day period over the weekend, the guards would let me use their shower to bathe and clean up, including wash my clothes (before daylight).

Then once it was dawn, I would go walking around the stadium to watch people do different sports till nightfall. But lacking money, I could buy no food to eat.

Yep, I mean it. From that Friday night till Monday a.m of April 2013, I only drank water – as I had NO CASH to buy ANY food to eat!

I knew no one in the country at the time, and I had made no friends I could reach out to. It was far from being a funny experience.

Yet each day, I would write and publish a new article on my blog – click here to check my April 2013 archives: I did not miss a single publishing day. That was how driven I was. The hunger pangs I felt did not stop me from staying motivated to do what I LOVED!

NB: Those close to me – my kids and relatives – have heard this story from me before now. But THIS is the first time I’m sharing it publicly. And it’s NOT even half told yet LOL!

I’ll be telling the rest of it during my talks as I travel (click here to request an audio version of the full story).

For now, I’ll end by noting that on Sunday night, the hunger I felt was so great that around 10p.m, I approached a lady selling pineapples in front of the stadium for a pineapple.

She told me “C’est cent francs” i.e. it’s 100 French CFA (about N33 Naira at the time).

I replied that I knew, but that I had no money. She looked me over in disgust and told me to leave. I quietly did so while consoling myself that I’d at least tried and thay the rejection I earned was the worst that could have happened.

Retiring to a corner bench outside a closed shop, I lay down with my head on my backpack, while my travel bag was beside me. (This experience really opened my eyes to what it meant to be homeless, I tell you!)

As I looked up into the sky, praying that time would run fast into morning so I could go to the bank to receive the UBA Africash transfer I was expecting, I heard the old lady call out to me: “Monsieur!”

Sitting up, I saw her motion for me to come over. Getting to her table, she handed me a pineapple and told her son to peel it for me.

I thanked her profusely, and watched, with my stomach growling, as the little boy peeled the fruit and sliced it up into a nylon bag that he handed me,

Thanking them both, I retuned to my corner and proceeded to eat the fruit, prolonging each bite as long as I could, to savour the flavour.
Never had pineapple tasted so great in my mouth before!

That night I slept much better than I had on the previous nights – for obvious reasons. Food is good my dear reader! No matter how  tough you are, lack of food for prolonged periods WILL get you down sooner or later.

The next morning, by around 9a.m, I had collected cash from the UBA branch in front of the stadium

Life was good again…or so I thought – until few weeks later, I once again ran out of funds and had to sleep on the streets of Porto Novo, when I made my very first visit to the famous Songhai Integrated Farming Centre.

Details of that and other trials I passed through in my first few weeks in Benin Republic will be in the audio podcast I will soon publish for members of DiscoverCotonou.com to freely access.

I’ll end this piece by saying that my willingness to endure any form of hardship to achieve any goals I set for  myself is why I AM the unstoppable force of nature that others find me to be.

The articles linked below offer true stories of my achievements by the end of that first year (2013) in Benin, despite my rocky start – such as:

On another occasion, I had to write a blog post due for publishing on my blog, while inside the chauffeur driven jeep of a Cotonou based Nigerian diplomat client, at 11.30p.m. We were stuck in a traffic jam on the way back to Seme border, after a visit to his farm in South West Nigeria. Read more

On 4th May 2014, Tayo’s 9 year old domain (Spontaneousdevelopment dot com), which hosted his website, was taken over by Aplus.net.

Within a few days however, Tayo used his advanced self-taught web development skills to build a SUPERIOR “reincarnation” of it the website http://www.tayosolagbade.com.

PII 099: You Need Reasoning Skills, NOT Memorization for Success! [www.discovercotonou.com – COMING SOON!]

All human beings are born with some kind of unique genius. We just need to narrow down to what it is for each person. Some of us discover it by ourselves. Others get it pointed out to them by those they interact with.
Sadly few people who pass through formal schooling are able to preserve their capacity for INDEPENDENT thinking and creative reasoning (which is a function of the above mentioned genius they arrive the world with).
By the time they emerge from that supposedly “educational” experience, they display an unhealthy preference for wanting to follow the crowd, to be like others, to NOT stand out, to belong to – and NOT stray away from – the pack or tribe.
And that’s what makes the few who refuse to let formal schooling “damage” them in that manner, seem so exceptional!

It’s what made Albert Einstein make such a formidable impact on the world with his ideas.

Little wonder that he consistently showed a contempt for formal education – having passed through it himself, and famously denouncing his teachers along the way.
Below is one of many quotes credited to him, in which he criticized the faulty system used in formal schools, whereby memorization of facts and figures was rewarded over and above reasoning skills:

“Never memorize something that you can look up.”

And here is an excerpt from an excellent BBC report which notes the fact that Eisnten excelled by NOT adopting what formal education demanded i.e Rote Learning.

“Intriguingly, those who have more spindle events tend to have greater ‘fluid intelligence’ – the ability to solve new problems, use logic in new situations, and identify patterns – the kind Einstein had in spades. “They don’t seem related to other types of intelligence, such as the ability to memorise facts and figures, so it’s really specific to these reasoning skills,” says Fogel. This ties in nicely with Einstein’s disdain for formal education and advice to “never memorise anything which you can look up”.
Source: http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20170612-what-you-can-learn-from-einsteins-quirky-habits

I happen to be one of those few who managed to emerge from the formal schooling process without losing my Creative Genius.

And this despite the fact that I managed to do quite well in the academic system. In fact, I did so well that I got awards right till I left the university.
Not only was I best graduating student, but I also scored the highest ever C.G.P.A (5.9)  in the department I finished from. And on top of that, I got awards for sporting excellence as well.

On getting to the real world however, I discovered that being able to use the knowledge I had or read up, to “solve new problems, use logic in new situations, and identify patterns ” – was what the WORLD really valued in people.

So while in paid employment, I dug deep into that natural genius of mine, for doing THAT and it turned me into a high performing manager that set all kinds of workplace achievement records in 7-short years.

I did things that got me noticed early in my career and earned me rapid career advancement opportunities well ahead of those who were my supposed seniors.
Since starting my own business, my knack for using the knowledge I have or that I read up, to “solve new problems, use logic in new situations, and identify patterns” has helped me build a profitable business model, that enables me get paid by clients locally and internationally, without face to face meetings.
One recurring theme has always been that I tend to THINK of and SEE things that are likely to be needed well ahead of others.

When I take action based on those insights I have, most people initially just scoff at my efforts and even call me foolish or silly. But eventually, because I never let go, and diligently persist in trying to work those ideas, I eventually prove them valid and those who doubted become converts.
This has happened again and again. I’m used to it. Any person who wants to make the most of his/her genius MUST get used to it, and never let it stop him/her from taking action to do what s/he is convinced about.

Today, I’m acting on the above mentioned instinct, again, by launching a new website – www.discovercotonou.com – to meet a series of needs I’ve identified from 4 solid years of careful research based on enquiries from visitors to www.tayosolagbade.com.

dc-edit-ok

Once again I’m seeing what others are NOT seeing. But soon, they will. And I’ll be waiting to reap the usual rewards.

The same thing is currently happening for me in the area of Best Practice Parenting and the message I’m preaching that parents avoid making the mistake of NOT exposing their kids of income earning vocational skills based education EARLY in life – ideally alongside formal schooling. More on THAT in a separate article to come soon.If you need help making it happen, click here to send me a message

For NOW, here’s my admonition to you.

You too can have the same experience of NOT letting formal schooling’s “IMPACT” limit your ability to manifest your genius.
If you need help making this happen, click here to send me a message

There Is Nothing Wrong With A Humble Beginning- Achieve YOUR Success With Honour & Integrity By Tayo Solagbade [SYNDICATED VERSION]

My experience based achievements make me a competent expert authority on entrepreneurship and other areas of focus maintained in my writing – as reflected in the categories on this blog.

The article linked below is one that describes ideas I advocate for adoption, based on the BENEFITS that have accrued to me, and others I’ve studied, from APPLYING them

Here’s an excerpt, ending with a link to a full version of the piece, republished on a 3rd party website via syndication from my EzineArticles.com articles marketing account.

There Is Nothing Wrong With A Humble Beginning- Achieve YOUR Success With Honour & Integrity

Identify The “Hurry Merchants” Around You, And Steer Clear Of Them!

I have met and in certain instances worked with (or studied closely) some business owners who call themselves entrepreneurs but display traits that suggest they are not.

These individuals I noticed tended to measure their progress(and therefore that of anyone else they met), in terms of how quickly and easily they could make money and almost nothing else! They tended very often not do discriminate about how they made the money. That’s why people like them are often prepared to buy their way repeatedly to get awarded jobs.

The crops, climate and cultures differ dramatically, but there are parallels in the challenges that farmers in both Africa and the UK face – even if the scale and consequences of success and failure differ dramatically.

PII 097 [AUDIO]: Success Is NOT Your Birthright – Saying YOU BELIEVE Will NOT Be Enough!

Should a person who diligently professes (and practices) faith in the “All Knowing & All Powerful God” experience difficulties, delays, hardships, setbacks, failures or adversity in any form?

PII 097 [AUDIO]: Success Is NOT Your Birthright: Saying YOU BELIEVE Will NOT Be Enough!

Should a person who diligently professes faith in the “All Knowing & All Powerful God” experience difficulties, delays, hardships, setbacks, failures or adversity in any form?

If YES, how long would be enough, and when would it be too  much?
Does the fact that a person goes through hard times that seem prolonged and/or traumatizing mean that s/he has done something wrong for which s/he is being punished by “God”?
To put it another way: Is it possible for an honest and sincere believer to experience suffering in any way at all?
Should such a DEVOTED, honest and sincere believer not live a life free from problems, or hassles, that will reflect the fact that s/he believes in a “God” that has the power to put the world at his/her feet?
In this  latest audio podcast version of my Performance Improvement Ideas (PII) newsletter, I share some hard truths based on the theme of the above title and questions.
Quick take-Away: To believe that professing faith in “God” or the “Creator” will spare you from experiencing suffering, hardships, difficulties or adversity of any form in life is NAIVE. Indeed the fact that YOU have taken such a stand to BELIEVE puts you in a position where you become a VERY eligible candidate for MASSIVE visitations of adversity!
Listen to the full audio for  my complete message – and learn why you need to EMBRACE adversity whenever it shows up in your life, IF you want to grow and succeed.
Refuse to adopt the silly mentality that success will be yours simply because you claim it – by saying it. Nothing could be further from truth: YOU have to do the work!

[RECOMMENDED] Is Your Child Learning For School Or For Life?

By Tayo Solagbade | Submitted On June 11, 2008

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read or write. They will be those who cannot learn, unlearn or re-learn.” – Alvin Toffler

Preamble

Many people today, who have undergone formal schooling, do not have life survival skills, having only acquired learning for school (i.e. academic education), which they do not KNOW how to apply usefully in the real world.

We already know from years of recent history that it is no longer necessarily those who do well in school that go on to achieve success in life. It used to be so, when paid employment was the primary destination for people who finished school/learning.

PII 096 [AUDIO]: Money Making Skills Cannot be Acquired by Reading a Book!

In this audio podcast version of my weekly Performance Improvement Ideas newsletter, I discuss the subject of money making, with regard to the deficiency of formal conventional schooling systems in giving learners the know-how to do IT.

Among other issues, I highlight the fact that conventional learning institutions in our societies continue to focus excessively on book based learning, so that learners arrive adulthood, and enter society, post schooling with little or no understanding of money and how to make it.

Unfortunately, they inevitably discover, to their shock and dismay, that the world – more or less – revolves around money i.e. Money – as they say – makes the world go round.

No matter the academic credentials you acquire via schooling, if you lack money in enough volumes, to meet your needs (as an adult, post-schooling) so that you do not have to depend on others to “survive”, chances are good that you will NOT enjoy their respect – especially in Nigeria (ignore what they SAY & pay close attention, instead, to what they DO).

People will roll their eyes heaven wards when you speak; they will accuse you of “speaking too much English” or “blowing grammer”, when you voice opinion on issues. You will be used as the butt end of jokes to your face, and often behind your back. Money has a way of popping up in all areas of human life – so NOT having it, can make you look and feel bad quite often.

I say ALL this based on my painful personal experiences – which I’ve described in MANY of my past articles on this blog. A good example is this PDF report (in which I describe my experiences as a struggling startup of being the “Bambiala” of the Solagbade family) and  this article, in which I noted that I used to steal N100 naira from the purse of my kids’ mother to purchase browsing time in the cybercafe, so as to do more marketing!

I did all that because I did not know how to make money in those early years. My brilliant academic abilities did NOT help me!

It took great effort and pain, to learn via trial and error, till I became competent. Today I make money without even needing to meet clients/buyers in person.

I therefore argue that parents who want the best for their kids need to ADD a vocational skills acquisition dimension to the “education” of their kids. Formal schooling on its own simply will NOT do anymore in today’s world.

This is why we have armies of unemployed certificate carrying graduates walking jobless on the streets. You can make YOUR child’s story different. I say this based on what I’m doing for my kids. Learn more from the audio – and follow the instructions at the end to find out how I can help you design a programme for your child.

But updates are still ongoing to URLs bearing the old domain name in most of the over 1,000 web pages, and blog posts he’s published.

If you experience any difficulties finding a page or document, email Tayo at tksola dot com.

PII 095: Transform Your Child Into a Money Making Machine Who NEVER Needs a 9 to 5 Job!

This post features photos of 2 different sized batches of snails put up for sale in a popular Ikeja-Lagos side street market.

The bigger ones (see below) sell for N2, 000.0 for a set of 4. In other words, one goes for about N500.0

The smaller ones (see further down) sell for N250.0 for a set of 4. In other words, one goes for about N60.0

In a past article on this blog, I shared photos of snails being reared by my 8 year old daughter in her backyard snailery.

The smaller ones (see further down) sell for N250.0 for a set of 4. In other words, one goes for about N60.0

In a past article on this blog, I shared photos of snails being reared by my 8 year old daughter in her backyard snailery.

This was something she started a simply hobby, but over time we’ve gradually begun to turn it into a formal – though still pilot -scale operation.

Now we have a formulated ration we feed them and we have also set up a nursery where we hatch baby snails

Especially as we excitedly discovered that the new feed we were giving the snails seemed to result6 in regular eggs lying.

One main challenge with handling the eggs and baby snails is that we are still struggling to get the hang of it.

As a result, I estimate that we end up losing up to 50% of the egg batches we collect. In most cases we get about 15 to 30 eggs laid in a batch. So, you can do the math to determine how many snails we end up with as babies from each batch.

Feeding these babies has also been something we’ve not really been able to formally address.

For the most part we’ve sprinkled the same powdery feed for the adults in the nursery section, and left them to roam around. We’ve found that they generally are able to eat the same food the adults eat, but the smaller sizes of course.

Below:  A short video we recorded of one of her newly hatched baby snails in the nursery we’ve setup.

It’s really tiny – but if you look carefully at the vertical glass side of the nursery to the right, you will eventually see it climbing slowly up… We have many of them now.

The truth is however that I’ve always known that the best way to make my daughter’s efforts relentless investment of time, effort, energy and creativity into caring for the snails worthwhile, would be to help her scale it up to a commercial operation.

For that to happen there was need for a formal feasibility study to be done.

Luckily, I knew who to go to, for that/

So, a few weeks ago, I put my money where my mouth was, by ordering for a feasibility report to be prepared for my daughter’s proposed scaled up snail farm business.

Before contacting the consultant, I told her my intentions and watched as her eyes lit up in excitement. I explained that the report needed to include the name of her farm – asking her to tell me w3hat she would like to name her snail farm business. After a short brainstorming session she settled for using her name i.e. Oxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Snail Farm (OSF) – full name removed for privacy.

Next, I logged on to the web and sent the proposed farm name, address and other details to the consultant via Facebook messenger.

About a week later, the 3 year scenario feasibility report – prepared by UNIPORT’s Prof. Olufemi Martins Adesope – arrived in my inbox and I showed it to her.

osf2

It goes without saying that most of the technical aspects` would not make much sense to her. However, the computations of snail and egg numbers, as well as monetary values for purchase/sales were aspects she could relate to. fairly readily/

Soon, we will begin implementing the expansion plans. But for now, she’s pushing to grow the 21 snails she has as much as possible, fir sale by the end of December.

I took photos of the smaller batch of (N250 for four) snails to show her that her snails (21 of them) already command a good price in the market.

osf-small

The idea is to inspire her to keep doing what she’s doing, based on the realization that it’s not a waste of time.

The entire exercise I’ve involved her in through this vocation is designed to give her real world relevant education about what to focus her attention upon, outside the academic arena.

We need to realize that kids are fast learners

Therefore if we expose them to such income earning vocations early in life, so that they develop a passion for doing it, they will arrive adulthood with a lifelong money making competence that will boost their chances of achieving financial independ3nce and success in life.

Isn’t that why we send them through formal school?

Shouldn’t that be the ability they emerge from their schooling with?

Shouldn’t they know more than just carrying their certificates from school, along with CVs to look for jobs?

Does it not make sense that if they search for paid employment post-schooling, and are unable to find jobs, that they should at least be able to fall back on income earning vocational skills, like that required for snail farming, to earn income that meets their needs?

I say it does.

Reality says it does.

History, past and present, says it does.

That’s why I argue that vocational skills based education is what schools need to offer to remain relevant to the needs of people in the 21st century and beyond.

Smart thinking societies like Germany have operated this model for decades – and that’s why they boast one of the lowest youth unemployment rates in the world.

I will be talking more about this is my next article.

For now, I challenge you to find out what passion. gift or interests your child has, and help him/her channel it into a vocation that is an established money making avenue in your society.

It’s the greatest gift you can give him/her.

PS: If you’re like me, and really want to take this to the next leve

In this regard you would aim to arm your child with multiple income earning vocational skills – and s/he will become an unstoppable, self-confident money making machine, who will NEVER need a 9 to 5 job!
