Imagine if a competent speech therapist had a blog with articles to inform and educate such person on what to do, where to go etc

The therapist can even offer to link parents up to the right experts, if s/he cannot help.
At the end, s/he would get name recognition, credibility and goodwill. Parents would talk about him/her, and his/her blog containing informative and educative articles to others. Sooner than later that will attract new and/or referral business to such a therapist.
But more importantly, s/he would be rendering a useful service that saves patients from being misled or exploited.
It goes without saying that some patients with hearing problems are also having similar experience to the parent of the child with a speech problem.
This is one of the reasons why I have been encouraging my speech pathologist and audiologist clients in particular, to adopt formal web marketing by actively using a blog and email newsletter like the ones I use and setup for others.
