6 Things You Need To Make Your Website Succeed – ANYWHERE!

Even a 5 year old can build a website today, using FREE tools. What’s NOT so easy is making the website generate sales leads/prospects who eventually buy: THAT, is when a website IS working/succeeding! Today, over a decade after I started up, I travel as a Location Independent Multipreneur, across West Africa, and have CEO clients within and outside Africa.

My exposure and experiences over the years have helped me discover the following important FACT:

MOST African CEOs do not know they should be in the driving seat of their Website Marketing for Business Development.

For your website to WORK , YOU MUST be ABLE to create and propagate your website content for marketing purposes (or have a team member/in-house staff who can do it for you).

If you want to achieve sustainable, low cost, intelligent web marketing success for your business, you should NEVER be dependent on your developer to do your content updates. Except of course s/he is a member of YOUR team, NOT an external contractor taking a chunk of your funds!

Feed Compounding With Indomie Noodles Factory Waste Can Save YOUR Farm’s Profits

Several years ago, Ben Oshionya, a Farm CEO based on the outskirts of Portharcourt-Nigeria, who had purchased my Feed Formulation Handbook and Software got in touch again via phone a week later.

He wanted to know how he could use Indomie noodles waste (from the manufacturer’s factory process), to compound feed for his fish.

Past visits to various farms had already led me to discover a recent trend in which many local pig and fish farmers (in particular) out here, use this low cost by product to boost growth of their animals by incorporating it in the rations they serve them.

Poultry, fish and pig farmers in particular were using it to boost the energy content of their feed, and in some cases for “fattening” purposes.

I also knew from visits to feed mills, that it was readily available for purchase along with other “traditional” feed ingredients.

This made it easy for me to later on that night send him the following text message via my mobile:

“Calculating with information printed on the wrapper of a 70g pack, you find that Indomie noodles has about 71% carbohydrate content(7% being sugar), 9% protein, and 17% fat.

When used in compounded feed, it boosts growth – especially for fingerlings, I am told. Sells for about N50 per kilogram in feed mills.

You can use it to replace some of the maize and other carbohydrate sources in your ration. Watch the fat. tayo.”

NB: The above message was sent in 2008. It goes without saying that the prices stated will have changed as of now – 28th May 2015 (7 years on).

In sending him the information, I knew he would follow the Pearson Square Computation method described in my handbook that he’d purchased.

Since Ben already owned a copy of my feed formulation handbook, it was logical to expect that the above would not be difficult for him to do successfully.

Basically, he would incorporate the appropriate quantity of noodles waste into the rations to be fed to the animals (after posting the relevant nutrient composition into the ingredients table provided in the software).

That way he would be able to MEASURE what he used and compare with the performance of the animals, as a guide to deciding on further/future use.

I told him to let me know if he encountered any problems. I did not hear from him, so it’s likely he got on well.

Since then I’ve had similar experiences with other buyers of the handbook and software.

Feed compounding is the art of producing healthy least cost (NOT lowest cost) BALANCED livestock feed/rations using the science of Feed Formulation (e.g. via methods like Pearson Square Computation. Linear Programming and others)

1 of 2: PUBLIC SPEAKING – How A NEW Client Paid For My Website! [Why “Bartering” Can Help You Sell More – True Story]

This dramatic series of events that lasted nearly three weeks too place between April and May 2009, regarding my former 9 year old domain – spontaneousdevelopment.com.

I had a premonition towards the end of April, that it would be smart to make alternative arrangements to get payment

for my site’s renewal in May 2019, so I started the process of opening a domicillary account with a bank here in Lagos.

It took some running around to meet all the bank’s requirements, but I eventually did.

Unfortunately, some days to the renewal date, I got an email from the bank saying my accound had been blocked for some reason I did not care to even call them about.

On the due date (2nd May), the credit card attached to my account

– belonging to a friend in the USA (and which had been used for 4 previous renewals since 2005), failed when it was charged for that year (the 5th). I got an auto-email from (web host name removed)

to that effect.

So, what did I do? Well, I have always been a business to business barter exchange enthusiast, and have often offered clients the opportunity to save cash by paying for my services in kind.

(For instance, I once had a client who paid about 50% of my fees by printing one of my t-shirt designs on to t-shirts for kids. Visit www.cafepress.com/ezeartsonline to see the Eyo Masquerade designs used on the T-Shirts.

What I did was to offer a prospective client I was discussing with in the last week of April, a discount, and some other incentives, to use his domicillary account to transfer the required amount (approx $130 excl. charges which amounted to almost $50 at the end) to

(web host name removed).

And he agreed. In fact, two days later (after crediting the required dollar amount to the account), he did the transfer. I subsequently followed up with

(web host name removed).

But alas, all did not turn out well.

After a series of enquiries (back and forth email messages and chat discussions), over a number of days, we finally discovered that a certain off-shore charge had not been provided for by my client in the total amount he sent, which led to the money that got to

(web host name removed) being lower than my renewal fees.

By this time, my site had gone offline as a result of the non-renewal.

But things have a way of working themselves out.

In what was a wonderful coincidence (and reversal of fortunes), my new client pointed out that he would be leaving for the USA to attend a course, and could easily send over any balance if I let him know the outcome of my discussions with.

THAT was exactly what happened.

I had one final chat session with another

agent of the hosting company, and I verified the remaining amount to be sent over to complete my payment. I emailed my client the details in Atlanta, and he sent another wire transfer from his US bank to (web host name removed)’s bank in Kansas.

48 Hours later, my site was back online, and I sent him the following email:

Consider also the fact that this chap had already made payments to me in Naira for some part of the work I was doing for him at the time, even though the bulk of it would only begin when he returned.

A Pastor Says…Don’t Let Others Spell Your “Meekness” As “Weakness”

Those who have read my writings and/or heard me speak know that I am not someone you would call “religious” by any standards. Yet those who are objective acknowledge that I LOVE quoting religious leaders who impress me: like Pastor Tunde Bakare and others.

Why do I love listening to – and quoting – this gentleman, and others like him, so much (despite my attendance in church being close to zero)? Well, it’s because I have found that he is passionately driven to speak truth objectively in doing his work.

He recognizes no sacred cows (and will therefore say what he is “led” by the spirit to say WITHOUT FEAR.

He also does not tolerate mediocrity, will refuse to be intimidated by any person and basically seeks to – in my opinion – be CONTINUALLY sincere in his service to God and humanity.

The above qualities are rare in these parts these days. And it gives people like me great inspiration to know that some Men of God can still REFUSE to be “corrupted” especially in their “character”.

Another reason I so love to hear this man speak is that he challenges his audience to strive to EXCEL as individuals in a manner that glorifies the God they claim they serve. This makes them avoid the more common path followed by many, to become “parasites” who latch on to pathetic excuses to attach themselves to the church in order to “qualify” to get freebies without having to sweat.

For instance, below is an excerpt from a past issue of my newsletter in which I described how he rebuked some of those who called themselves “Prayer Warriors”:

I recall hearing Pastor Tunde Bakare preaching a sermon on TV once in which he talked about laziness in the church. He mentioned that some groups such as those called “Prayer Warriors” would claim their prayers were responsible for the achievements being recorded by other members they prayed for. Yet the lives of the individual members of the prayer warrior groups often times showed little to suggest they themselves recorded any worthwhile achievements of their own.

Pastor Bakare asked why they could not do for themselves what they claimed to be doing for others?! I have the answer to that question: They do NOT know how, because they do not have life survival skills, having only acquired learning for school (i.e. academic education), which they do not KNOW how to apply usefully in the real world!

I Discover Another Preacher With A Message Worth Passing On

So, that’s Tunde Bakare – as I see him.

And I know there are not many as tough as he is. But apparently there are some who also recognise other “weaknesses” in the church body that need to be “talked about” and corrected.

The foregoing is why this (article) got its curious title. You see, I know a lot of people in my part of the world are highly religious, and will often be more willing to consider a line of action favourably if the person who proposes it mentions something relating to “pleasing God” or “making heaven”.

My purpose (as a Self-Development/Performance Enhancement Specialist) is to help all people – religious or otherwise – learn how to achieve their valued goals by being able to continually function at their optimal best.

I therefore consider it important to HIGHLIGHT and bring to the attention of my target audience ANY and EVERY bit of new or information that can help them.

And that is why I am ALWAYS open-minded enough to read publications and watch programmes on various subjects – including those that are religious. As an Extension Service professional I am very aware of the need to fully understand the “psychology” of the people I aim to influence (i.e. their peculiar culture, beliefs, biases etc, and how it influences their actions).

All that I have so far said will (I hope) explain why I chose to feature the message by this other pastor (below):

How It Happened – And What He Said

In February 2009, I was given a publication (The Joseph Company Quarterly Magazine) by someone, in which I scanned an interesting paragraph of a re-published message that made me decide to take out a few minutes to read more.

The message was “preached” by one Pastor Dapo Adeniyi at the Lagos Hilton Hotel, Ikeja on October 14th 2007. And it was titled “Positioning Yourself For Increase”.

Below I have re-produced excerpts for your THOUGHFUL CONTEMPLATION.

(I am hopeful that the obvious meaning in that message will challenge any person who reads it – especially those determined to act very “religious” outwardly – to understand that doing so NEED NOT require them to become weaklings to be pushed around in society):

“Unfortunately, we in the church have allowed people on the outside to spell our “meekness” as “weakness”. I consider meekness as we know it to be a great asset in the church. Someone who appears morose and sheepish can get by in church without much problems, but not in the world outside….

…We completely make ourselves difficult to buy if we put forth this kind of appearance. The world is simply impatient with weakness and incompetence, and let me tell you any slightest hint of that. A meek person will therefore need to show forth him/herself as intelligent without being brash.

We must learn to be confident, strong and highly personable or friendly. We need to present ourselves as capable and confident, not arrogant. That is strength. That is beauty. And that is what the world around us will buy”.
