The FARM CEO (Issue 96) – FEEDING SNAILS: Researchers Discover Moringa Can Do It Better & Cheaper!

If you’re interested in Commercial Snail Farming (like I am – due to my daughter’s passion for it – and the interest of some of my Farm CEO clients), then you’ll want to read this:

This amazing Moringa plant continues to prove itself to be a true all-purpose plant.

This time around, it’s showing researchers looking for more cost-effective ways to grow commercially reared snails, that it can generate potentially massive savings in terms of feeding costs, even as it delivers satisfactory nutrients supply to the micro livestock fed with it.

No wonder it’s called the MIRACLE TREE!

The foregoing is the conclusion reached by a team at the famous Songhai Integrated (100% recycled) Farming Centre based on Porto Novo, in a study they conducted.

Below, I share a preview of their report, with clickable links to read it in full on the Songhai website:

SNAIL FARMING: MORINGA FOR A BETTER GROWTH OF SNAILS

The residues of Moringa leaf extract can well replace the feed used in feeding snails. This is the conclusion reached from an experiment conducted by a Songhai team, seeking the best feed for a better growth of these mollusks.

Snails need a diet rich in protein for growth. Moringa is known for its medicinal properties and for its richness in protein. Fresh moringa leaves contain as much protein as an egg; dry moringa leaves contain four times more.

[RECOMMENDED] DIY Africa: Empowering a new Sierra Leone – Kelvin Doe, Self-Taught Engineering Teenage Whiz From Sierra Leone, Wows MIT Experts (VIDEO) – As seen on CNN, HuffingtonPost, Wikipedia etc

In this special edition of my RECOMMENDED blog post series, I feature previews from high profile news reports about a young African’s amazing achievements – from when he was 13 years old – of using 100% self-taught engineering skills to innovate and invent PRACTICAL solutions to everyday problems in his own community.

His accomplishments have since led him to set records of all kinds – including becoming the “youngest person in history to be invited to the “Visiting Practitioner’s Program” at MIT” at age 15 – and meeting globally known public figures like the President of Harvard University – and even Hilary Clinton!

Below, I offer a menu of excerpts ending with links to the full reports

sdn-kelvin-doe

1. “Kelvin Doe, now 16, became the youngest person in history to be invited to the “Visiting Practitioner’s Program” at MIT, according to CNN….MIT discovered Doe during Innovate Salone, a national high school innovation challengeheld in Sierra Leone by an international organization called Global Minimum. Doctoral student David Sengeh recognized his skills right away.

2. “Kelvin Doe (born 26 October 1996 in Freetown), also known as DJ Focus, is a Sierra Leonean engineer. He is known for teaching himself engineering at the age of 13 and building his own radio station in Sierra Leone, where he plays music and broadcasts news under the name “DJ Focus.” He was one of the finalists in GMin’s Innovate Salone idea competition, in which Doe built a generator from scrap metals. Doe would constantly use discarded pieces of scrap to build transmitters, generators, and batteries, as well.[1][2]

3. (CNN) — When Kelvin Doe, a then-13-year-old from Sierra Leone, saw that off-the-shelf batteries were too expensive for the inventions he was working on, he made his own at home. Kelvin did not have the privilege to do his project in a school environment. Rather, he was compelled to act by necessity and for the joy of solving practical problems. Kelvin combined acid, soda, and metal, dumped those ingredients in a tin cup, waited for the mixture to dry and wrapped tape around the cup to make his first battery. He failed several times before completing a final, working prototype. He hasn’t purchased a battery since.

4. [Maker Faire] Mention Africa and many of us westerners immediately conjure up images of war, famine, and genocide. But Sierra Leone’s 16-year-old Kelvin Doe is conjuring up something something altogether different.

Kelvin, AKA DJ Focus, helped create a DIY youth radio station made from discarded consumer electronics salvaged from local garbage bins. He designed his own generator to power the station’s amplifier and other components. The station’s 12-volt generator is made from a home-made battery which in turn is  charged by broken DVD players. In his spare time, Kelvin DJs at kids’ birthday parties.

Get My Massive Compilation of Snail Farming Biz Startup Guides + Experience Sharing Support to Start YOUR Own Pilot Scale Trial [True Story; How my 8 Year Old Daughter’s Passion for Snail Rearing Opened My Eyes to The Huge Potential Of Snail Farming Business!]

Since the start of October 2017, I’ve been calling and telling EACH of my Farm CEO clients that s/he can successfully generate USEFUL ADDITIONAL income, for the long term, by running a snail rearing entreprise based on his/her farm’s existing overheads!

And I owe my newly acquired insights to my 8 year old daughter’s passion which opened my eyes to the powerful income generating benefits that can accrue from snail rearing

olu-snails-7

Today, with what she’s achieved in about 2 months of haphazard improvisational rearing, I’ve seen results that have made me decide to help her formally launch her own snail rearing from a hobby to the real thing i.e. a money making entreprise.

We improvised to house them, and over a 2 month period, have gone from feeding them kitchen food to formulating a high growth ration that is a variant of original ration formulation recommendations (provided by the famous Songhai Centre in Benin Republic’s Porto Novo) which grows snails to 0.5kg market weight in 4 months instead of 8 months.

olu-snails-3

The results we’ve gotten so far convince me we’re well on track to recording great results by end November into December 2017 – especially now that we’re going to set things up based on best practice.

Are you interested in venturing into commercial snail farming, but would like a low cost/low risk way to find out what you need to know before you take the final plunge?

Would you like to get my experience & information sharing (NOT CONSULTING!) support to start your own snail farm on a pilot scale, like we did, using lessons learnt from the backyard snailery, started as a hobby by my 8 year old daughter?

Pay N7.5k (click here to request payment details) to get unlimited access to my Newly Updated Inner Circle Downloads Center PLUS download links to my FREE massive library of Snail Farming self-study PDF and video resources that took me weeks to compile PLUS

NB: What you get will NOT be limited to the promised Snail Farming information, but will instead include other self-help resources I continue to create on different farm businesses – as listed below:

  1. Part 2 of my Feeding Pigs Cheaply Fact Sheet on Making Cheap Nuitritious Silage from Sweet Potato Vines (as well as Part 1, and others to come)
  2. Plus you’ll get other fact sheets I’ll publish weekly on Fish, Rabbit, Snail & Poultry farming.
  3. And you’ll get over 30 top quality ebooks I’ve added to my Multidisciplinary blog/Performance Improvement Library.
You will be given a unique username and password to access the VERY same downloads Interface used by members of my Inner Circle.

But the main offer is the Snail Farm Biz Startup Compilation…

I began putting it together as part of the FREE information finding service I provide to ALL members of my Farm Business Ideas club.

A new client’s request for information resources on how to startup a small scale snail farming business in Nigeria led me to compile what is now this MASSIVE library of powerful PDF step-by-step manuals and demonstration videos (IN mobile friendly format) that cover everything from snail biology/identification to snailery construction, feeding, breeding/management, predators, parasites and diseases control, as well as processing/marketing for income generation both locally, and via export.

Fill/submit this web form (click now) to request a 2 page PDF with more details about the compiled materials on Snail Farming Business that I offer for download.

It contains details of what you need to do.

Let me know if you have questions or require clarification.

To your success!

Our Story – How it all began…

Unlike most kids her age, my 8  year old girl is a bit more driven -and I think that’s helped her a lot to get the results I’m describing here.

She diligently wakes up daily to work for 15 to 20 minutes tending to the snails. And she has done that for 2 months now – with rarely any prompting needed from older persons!

That attitude is partly the result of her early exposure from when she was about 5 years old, to vocational skills based activities like baking of cakes, pizza, bread, chin-chin as well as drinks making, hair styling (plaiting/braiding) as well as facial makeup/cosmetics.

But unlike all these other activities I’ve mentioned (which I deliberatly arranged for her and her siblings), THIS snail rearing initiative was 100% her own idea.

Here’s a short narrative of the true story about how we began…

It all began in the first week of August 2017. It was supposed to be one of those passing interests that kids develop. Looking back now, I feel a bit ashamed that i did not see the potential in this vocation for my kid to benefit. despite the fact that I provided support to Farm Business Owners.

In fact, she just began collecting snails that were emerging from the undeveloped plot next to our home, and each day she would clean them and keep them in a plastic container, then try feedign them with left over food from the kitchen -especually garri, which they ate but only sparingly.

I noticed it, but thought nothing of it, assuming she’d eventually drop it. But that did not happen. Instead she came askign what she coudl feed them, and persisted in doign so, until one day I put my work aside and Googled up information that told us they would eat almost anything – including foods we ate. So ee tried cooked rice and beans.

And both were a hit with the snails. My girls was visinly excited and diligently scooped out portions of rice/beans each time we coooked them, for use in feeding her snails. To help them eat well, I got her to use a spoon to crush the grains into a paste before serving the snails on a flat plastic cover.

olu-snails-6

She would take the snails out from the plastic container she kept them in, and place them next to small mounds of the food and watch them eat, till they stopped feeding. I woud see her do this as I came and went, but only once in a while did I get further involved.

Then one day I saw her cleaning out the plastic container in which LOTS of the snail’s excreta had built up at the bottom. That made me warn her about the health risk of bad hygiene to the snails. By this time, a Pig Farm CEO client who had long been pestering me about his desire to start a snailery, had gotten me to begin compiling most of the information resources I now offer here.

So I was familiar with the need to setup a blocked off area to serve as a pen. I told her to gather her snails into the plastic bowl and we moved them to the side of the house, which offered walls on 3 sides in a narrow corridor, with one entry/exit.

There we proceeded to introduce soil taken from close to the undeveloped plot next door, so as to get a composition and texture as close to that in the snails’ place of origin. In the house, we found an old mosquito net, and some thin slabs of wood, which we used to cover the snails. It was not perfect, but it worked. That was done about the first week of September (last month).

olu-snails-2

By the last week of September she had been diligently feedign them usign food taken from the kitchen, but I never really nothered to LOOK inside the area we’d setup for them as an improvised pen of sorts.

Until a day or two before Independence day (1st October 2017), when I took a look and was shcked to discover that most of the snails had almost doubled in size! It was unreal. I knew about 2 months had passed, but I also reclaled that we’d not been feedign them anything special.

What I saw made me excitedly inform my Pig Farm CEO client of the results I’d seen, and I then wasted no time in going down to a feed mill in Oko-Oba area of Agege, to purchase the ingredients we’d heard mentioned in an intrnational award winning Songhai video I’d been told about during one of my visits to the Porto Novo Headquarters in Benin Republic.

olu-snails-5

In my compilation, I’ve included the direct link to the download page for that Songhai video . But knowing how data/bandwidth can be an issue out here, I’ve also created a much smaller mobile friendly 3GP version that you can download faster and at less cost.

Indeed, I’ve done that for ALL the videos I found – and will gladly email them to anyone who requests them after gaining accesss to the Downloads Page here.

Fill/submit this web form to request more details, including 2 videos I’ve recorded to share our personal experience with the pilot scale version managed by my 8 year old daughter, that we’re NOW about to scale up

PII 087: Why Farm CEOs Need Multiple Streams of Income to Succeed

If you’re a Farm CEO, or know someone who is, the ideas I share in this piece will interest – and can benefit – you (as well as him/her).

FACT: You’re in Business to Make Money Profitably

With a few possible (odd!) exceptions, more  or less everyone starts a business to make money.

However, making sales in your farm business, which causes money to come in, WILL NOT necessarily mean your farm is making profits or that it will be profitable.

This is why I prefer to emphasize that one needs to MAKE MONEY PROFITABLY.

Did I hear you say “Huh”?

Ok, give me a moment and I’ll explain what I mean…

A business that is NOT making enough money to cover its daily operational expenses is unlikely to have significant funds left over to retain as profit.

If things stay that way for too long, it could collapse!

The owner would most likely have sleepless nights as a result – except s/he has OTHER income generating resources (Robert Kiyosaki calls them Cash Flow Generating Assets)

Regardless of what kind of farm business you run, a Multiple Streams of Income Generation strategy can boost your chances of achieving long term sustainable profits.

Some Farm Businesses Make Money UNPROFITABLY…

A common reason that happens is that they fail to get a firm grasp of their expense overheads as a basis for deciding how much to sell their farm produce.

This makes them end up limping along on a more or less perpetual basis, with the result that little or no growth or expansion is possible.

Indeed sometimes the business experiences periods of stagnation as a result.

I’ve seen examples of this with some livestock farm businesses I’ve supported – in which a lack of reliable income generation via the primary farm product output/sales caused delays in purchase of needed inputs (like feed, medication etc for the animals).

That situation eventually resulted in performance limiting consequences.

Now, you could argue that even if they accurately computed their overheads, it would be practically impossible for them to sell at prices exceeding what other farms offer.

And that would be true!

However I never said (and I’m NOT saying) a farm business needs to make money ONLY from its primary – or MAIN – output!

What I’m saying is that a Catfish Farm CEO, for example, need not focus ONLY on making money via sales of adult, fingerling or juvenile catfish. Neither does the Pig Farmer need to focus exclusively on making money by selling pigs of various ages, classes or sizes.

I argue instead that EVERY farm CEO can – and SHOULD – develop the ability to MAKE MORE money through other indirect channels, using his/her established farm business enterprise as a launch pad, if s/he desires to achieve long term sustainable money making success.

And just before you raise an objection or scoff at this idea in disbelief, note that it’s actually ALREADY happening in Africa, and outside of it…

Sadly, in the course of relating with them over the past decade, I’ve come to the realization that many Farm CEOs in this part of the world have a blind spot – in their thinking.

This blind spot makes them fail to see the otherwise glaring opportunities to boost their farm’s bottom-line at what often tend to be low or even zero additional costs!

In other words, too many of them have ONLY one way they’re willing to look at issues  – or what I prefer to call “potential opportunities”.

They are so fixated on doing things the popular, accepted, or conventional way that they’ve come to know!

Such Farm CEOs often want to be shown someone who farm’s situation looks exactly like theirs, and who is succeeding already in using the new/unconventional idea being proposed to them, BEFORE they believe, and give a NEW or DIFFERENT way a try themselves.

Sadly, life does not work that way: You need to put in some work, and take risks to do new things, if you are to progress!

This is especially because every farm business is unique – just like its owner.

That means the solution developed for it will often have to be tailored/implemented to suit its peculiar needs.

Who better to do that, if not the Farm CEO herself?!

And this is where having enduring passion for what you do comes in.

Without passion, you will simply NOT be willing to do the hard work of THINKING UP (potentially radical) ideas needed to develop alternative income streams to complement existing one(s).

I say this as one who helps Farm CEOs (and experts in other fields) conceive, develop and implement strategies to earn extra (often passive) income streams, like I do.

Yep.

Passion, or more specifically a lack of it, is – in my considered opinion – the main reason many Farm CEOs out here struggle to explore alternative ways to make EXTRA money to complement their farm’s primary earnings.

Yet, the approach I recommend can help business owners discover innovative ways to SAVE money, time, effort and resources – leading to INCREASED profit margins.

So s/he ends up killing 2 or more birds with one stone, reaping multiple fold benefits.

I know of NO business owner who would not want to have this kind of experience with his/her business!

As a Farm CEO in the 21st Century, you should be able to make money come into your hands, pockets or bank account, regardless of whether or not your farm has physical products ready for sale.

In fact, I argue that you CAN be a walking money making machine of sorts, if you know HOW to go about it!

Or better still, to borrow a phrase from Robert Kiyosaki, you should be able to PRINT your own money.

That way, even if your farm is encounters production problems and no farm produce are available to sell. you would STILL be able to make money – and profitably too!

Next Steps: Having provided justification for you to aim for multiple streams of income, I now invite you to request details of HOW to go about it – from me. Email tayo at tksola dot com  to send me a message.

Among other solutions, I offer a special talk/coaching program in which I discuss up to 5 proven ways to earn Non-Farm income as a Farm Business Owner. Email tayo at tksola dot com to invite me to speak to your group.

===Start of Transcript Excerpts====

Hi there, this is Tayo Solagbade and it’s about 4.54a.m. I’m recording this special update just to announce some slight modifications to the way I’ll be providing my solutions to everybody in my network.

Now please note that what I’m about to say here applies to you whether you’re already a client or whether you’re just a subscriber in my network, or maybe you’re just on my contacts list and I sent it to you.

But in the email I would have spelt out the same terms I’m about to describe in this audio, and it’s just designed to let everybody be on the same page.

Starting from Monday, the 9th of October 2017, I will be launching a new system for sending out offers to people in my network. And this will be a blanket system. In other words I will NOT be making special concessions to ANY particular groups of people anymore.

Instead I’m going to just be giving a blanket system of offers to make what I used to call “Crazy Promos”…there will no longer be called “crazy promos.

Instead I’m going to just have promos, because like I said I’ve tested all kinds of things this year, and what I’ve learned is that at the end of the day, the most important thing is that you should make your offers with integrity, but at the same time make them to have as much of a human face as possible.

Incidentally, it was some of you who told me this – who requested for this and asked, “Oh why can’t you make it a bit longer. These are short” and all of that. And what I found out over the years, from experts that I studied in developing my model, is that it’s always a smart thing to test. If people tell you they want “this”, TEST it! Don’t just be (like some clients used to tell me I was…lol) “rigid”.

So I said, OK – they say I’m rigid, let me see – just how flexible can I be, that they will be able to take it up…

So, I tried being flexible, and I noticed that the more flexible I tried to be, not everybody would respond to the effort being made to be flexible.

Some people still, there was always something!

So I said OK, the African and Nigerian environment is peculiar. People have challenges they are facing that are not normal. Because they are not like Americans, where everybody has their credit cards and you can just be charging their credit cards, every month, like some of my Oyinbo mentors that I’ve studied.

Some people are dealing with price changes of maize every week. So when they are talking about subscribing to your offer – when they say YES last week, by this week, they’ll say “Ol boy that YES don turn to MAYBE” lol!

And so I said to myself, that I have to find out something. that will be convenient for everybody and that would be FAIR! But I realized in the process of trying to do that, testing all kinds of approaches, practically with each person, especially those people who were already my clients and I felt I knew them and that it would be unfair not to give the guy a chance. I found out that there could be a varying degree of commitment even after you’d made these modifications.

So, eventually what I’ve come to is the conclusion that a person who really wants something (and that’s something I’ve actually always known), if he wants something badly enough, he’ll find away to get it.

All you have to do it to be fair in how you make the offer. Once you’ve done that, then your own part is played and it’s left to the person to decide.

And so, long story short, what I’m announcing to all of you is:

Starting Monday (9th October 2017), there will not be any crazy promos. They will just be FLASH PROMOS – which are promos that are (tightly) time limited.

So, the time limit can be in 3 forms.

The first form or first dealing will be 24 hours

That price will be crazy but I will not call it a crazy promo.

It’s just going to be at a flash promo price. You take it up in 24hours you get that price. You go beyond 24 hours, you’re going to have to deal with DOUBLE that price which will be applicable for 24 hours.

Then after that it goes back to (for instance if the thing was supposed to be ) N100k and I gave it to you at N5k, then you would actually have to pay N10k if you missed the 24 hour deadline, and then after the 48 hour deadline, you would have to pay the N100k…or comot eye lol!

Now, it’s important to note, that what I’m talking about here, there are no exceptions to it.

It does not matter if you’re a member of my Farm Business Ideas club or Web Marketing for CEOs club or whether you’re just a subscriber or you’re a member of my Inner Circle. It won’t matter.

(Not) even if you’re a member of Club Zero – because (unlike how I initially started it) I have revised the terms of Club Zero to be SPECIFICALLY for farm business owners.

The reason is this:

I would say that about 80% of my clients are Farm CEOs!

So those are the people that helped my brand to be what it is today, and it is for those people that I offer Club Zero – PRIMARILY.

It took me time, but I eventually decided that THAT was how I wanted it to be.

So anything outside Farm Business Support Solutions would NOT be a Club Zero thing. Therefore you won’t be able to get it at a zero price.

[RECOMMENDED] The new face of farming: youth making agribusiness ‘cool’!

It is important to make agriculture ‘cool’ in order to attract more youngsters to the sector.” – Botswana’s Mavis Nduchwa, 33 year old founder of Chabana (Animal Feed) Farms – a grantee of Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP)

The above quote, credited to a successful young Female African Farm CEO accurately captures the important need for African nations to make agribusiness more appealing to younger members of their populations.

Unfortunately, in some countries, like Nigeria, the youths continue to see and hear about farm businesses struggling to stay afloat or closing down e.g. poultry farms affected by scarcity and/or prohibitive prices of key inputs like Maize, Soyabean etc.

We need to create more opportunities for those bold enouch to venture into farm business, to record success stories like that of this young lady!

Run a quick Google search on African women making it in business, and you will rarely find a young woman engaged in rural farming. But Mavis Nduchwa has challenged norms by founding and successfully managing a commercial animal feed farm in Botswana.

[RECOMMENDED] Why online courses are trending

This report highlights a reality that people are coming to accept all over the world – including Africa – about the increasing popularity of online courses amongst people seeking tertiary level education. As tuition fees keep rising, those who cannot afford them are embracing the use of remote learning web based resources that a growing number of institutions now offer.

Why online courses are trending

Hundreds of university students in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa and other African countries took to the streets last year to protest against high tuition fees, lack of equal access to education and inferior learning environments at their learning institutions. The clashes, which disrupted the universities’ academic calendars, highlighted the harsh conditions students face on the continent.

To put it into perspective, only about 6% of young people in sub-Saharan Africa are enrolled in higher education institutions, according to a 2015 report by the Africa-America Institute (AAI), a US-based organization that seeks to foster relations between Africa and the United States through higher education.

PII 086: Why You need a Branded Email Address

Believe it or not, failing to use your own branded email address in today’s world CAN cost you in multiple ways that negatively impact your bottom line.

PII 086: Why You need a Branded Email Address

If you use a free email address (e.g at Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail etc) as your primary means of communicating with buyers or clients, you need to STOP it as soon as possible.

Believe it or not, failing to use your own branded email address in today’s world CAN cost you in multiple ways that negatively impact your bottom line.

I explain why/how in the rest of this piece.

Preamble: One of the things I LOVE to do in working with clients is to UNDER PROMISE so as to OVER DELIVER.

In other words, I make a point of going out of my way to serve the client with WAY more value than s/he paid for, such that s/he would be most likely to (at least) think to him/herself, that “This Tayo guy must be really crazy or something. How can he give so much?”

I LIKE it that way because then there is absolutely no way s/he can claim to not be satisfied with doing business with me!

So for instance with my Web Marketing clients, who signed up to become members of my Web Marketing for CEOs club, I am always reaching out to them with new smart marketing ideas based on what they’ve told me they want to achieve.

Rather than burden them with the task of taking the idea and building it into a strategy to be implemented, I take the initiative of developing the idea to a point where it is almost ready-to-use. Then I invite the client to review it and let me have his/her feedback.

This makes it easier for him/her to contribute to the process without having to struggle to create elaborate windows of free time to do it. As a result, quite often, I am able to get them to agree with my proposed ideas and strategies, to progress the work we’re doing together.

But what does the above have to do with how a branded email address can help you?

After all you did not click on the link to read this article to have me brag to you about how I impress my clients.

You want to know why it’s important that you do your business with a branded email address!

Well, I used the above preamble to illustrate the fact that you need to have an uncompromising customer service focus to succeed in your business.

Without that, it will NOT matter how impressive your business marketing is, because a lack of customer focus is likely to make you end up with dissatisfied customers – who will NOT do repeat business with you.

I can tell you, from years of personal experience that your marketing is best done by using it to build a continuously growing list of buyers who COME BACK to buy again and again from you.

A branded email address (like tayo at tayosolagbade dot com) conveys a silent but clear message, to a new prospect as well as an old client, that you are a reliable professional that would be safe to do business with.

Human beings can often be fickle in their purchasing behavior. This is especially so online.

It has been my experience that using a branded email address tends to inspire their confidence in considering any solutions one offers.

Note that I refer to both potential clients/prospects (i.e. those yet to buy from you) as well as those who you have already done business with.

Out here in Africa, where people are still not as comfortable doing business with persons they cannot see face to face, this problem is even more serious.

That’s why you need to ensure that the first – and subsequent – impression(s) you create in the minds of those who encounter your marketing messages is (are) as compelling as possible.

A branded domain name as the base of your email address can go a long way to help you achieve that.

The best part is that you can start using that email address based on a branded domain, without even building a website on the domain and it would still be better than using a free email address.

Lots of experts begin that way and later build a website on the domain.

I did just that with tayo at tksola dot com for over 5 years (from 2000 to 2005 or so), after which I began to use URL forwarding to point it to spontaneousdevelopment.com which I registered in 2005.

When you see an ad placed in a newspaper or online, featuring a branded email address, would you readily conclude it’s a scam offer or would you be willing to consider it a safe, legitimate opportunity?

I’m sure that latter is likely to be your reaction.

That’s why it baffles me that some people still use free email addresses as the primary channels for business marketing communication.

Some who even own websites on branded domains also do this!

In the case of the latter, I suspect it’s because they worry that their webmail accounts – which are often on budget hosting servers – may get filled up and cause loss of email.

However, settling for the free email address as a safe alternative is NOT good enough.

A perfect zero cost solution exists to the problem – I routinely set it up for my clients, such that they NEVER have to worry about their mailboxes getting full and bouncing emails back.

In fact the method used allows them to receive copies of EVERY email sent to their branded email address in their free email account inboxes. This makes it unnecessary for them to login to their webmail accounts, to see if they have mails!

More recently I’ve found a way to enable clients send emails from their free email accounts as if doing so from their branded email address accounts.

Below are excerpts from a recent email I sent to a client with tips on how to use his branded email address in place of the free email account he used…

He was still using his Yahoo! email address to communicate with clients/prospects, despite already owning a branded domain of his  own.

===Starts====

It’s time for you to start sending your emails using your Webmail address/account

When next we meet, I’ll have to help you change that – or maybe you just text me your password on phone and let me do it from here.

In the meantime, it’s best you begin corresponding with clients and prospects using your website email account – it helps to convey a more serious and professional images.

And you’ll need as much of that as possible in dealing with this new client you’re about to work with, as well as others.

In fact, I STRONGLY recommend that you send the final document (and all future correspondence) from your webmail.

The best part is that your Smartphone can be configured to send and receive from it by default.

What’s more, I’ve already set it to AUTOMATICALLY forward any emails that come to  it, to your Yahoo! email inbox – so even if you are in your yahoo, if anyone emails a reply to you via (email address removed), you won’t have to login to the webmail to see it, because a copy will be sent you your Yahoo! inbox.

So you can start telling people to email you via (email address removed) – and you’ll ALWAYS see what they send in your Yahoo! mail box. Plus you can even decide to reply them from there too.

Here’s all the information you need to get started:

Login Information:

User ID: (email address removed)

Password:

Option 1: Email Client setup information (i.e. to access your email through your phone or PC email client)

TIP: This will enable you configure your Smartphone to send/receive ALL emails via: (email address removed) Maybe Pelumi or Lati can help you set it up. It’s not really difficult…

Option 2; Webmail: (To access your email through a web browser)

Simply visit http://webmail.your-branded-domain-name.com

Then enter Login Information:

User ID: (email address removed)

Password:

If you have problems getting it done, we can do it when next we meet.

===Ends===

All of the above proves that the benefits of using a branded email address far outweigh ANY limitations that may come with doing so.

Considering the fact that you NEED to win (and retain) the trust of prospects (and clients), it goes without saying, therefore, that adopting a branded email address as your primary means of business communication via email is the common sense way to go.

That trust will boost your chances of winning your prospects and clients over to buy from you – again and again.

When they see it in your emails, on your website, or on offline marketing resources like your business card, flyers, banners, and letters, it will make a statement that you are to be taken seriously, as a provider of solutions you offer.

Every results focused business owner wants THAT – because it is what can lead to a sale(s).

And THAT is why you need a branded email address – like the ones I use for different aspects of my business e.g info at excelheaven dot biz, info at thefarm ceo dot net, tayo at tksola dot com, tayo at tayosolagbade dot com etc.

[IMPORTANT NOTE:====

On 4th May 2014, Tayo’s 9 year old domain (Spontaneousdevelopment dot com), which hosted his website, was taken over by Aplus.net.

Within a few days however, Tayo used his advanced self-taught web development skills to build a SUPERIOR “reincarnation” of it the website http://www.tayosolagbade.com.

But updates are still ongoing to URLs bearing the old domain name in most of the over 1,000 web pages, and blog posts he’s published.

If you experience any difficulties finding a page or document, email Tayo at tksola dot com.
