In this 2 part video demonstration, summary reports and charts are auto generated by my new Excel-VB Elections Results Compiler & Reports/Charts Generator, which I built mainly to demonstrate how Excel can be used to boost productivity in everyday activities.

[I began building the app around 25th April 2015. Today, 7th May 2015, I’m putting up the 2 part demonstration video, below, of the fully functional app, ready for use]

The idea here is to show the potentially limitless ways you can use Excel to boost your routine data recording, analysis and report generation in ANY field you work.

Most people think Excel is only useful for financial reporting.

NOT TRUE!

In reality ANY activity in which data handling/manipulation for trending and decision making happens CAN be improved with use of MS Excel …especially when smart functions and intelligent VBA coding is employed by competent persons.

Imagine your organization being able to click each state (or LGA, Zone, even country) on ANY map to generate instant tables and charts of products sales totals, marketing expenses and other data across your sites nationwide, for a day, week, month, year etc?

Many financial reporting apps allows users to EXPORT their data into MS Excel. That’s because it’s data handling and report generation capabilities are unrivalled. But Excel is so versatile that it is also used for many non-financial purposes as well.

Since 2004, Chartered Accountants, Quantity Surveyors, Insurance Brokers, Marketing managers and owners of SMEs have hired me to develop Excel-VB apps.

Many were good with MS Excel, but lacked my ability to “program” Excel. My mission is to coach those interested to program Excel like I do, so as to spawn a new breed of skilled professionals that will expand the market I have created for spreadsheet solutions out here.

Below is a partially hyper linked map of Nigeria, which allows for clicking of individual states to view reports exported as images from the app. On this sample results web page (click) I share examples of summary reports and charts auto generated by my new Excel-VB Election Results Compiler, using Nigeria’s March 28, 2015 INEC Summary Results.

When the app is ready, I will create a complete version of this map, that anyone can browse to view the static reports. However, a much better experience will come from generating the reports using drop menus and buttons provided in the app itself.

Yesterday (Mon 6th April 2015), I DELIBERATELY did NOT publish what would have been Issue No. 188 of my Speaking IDEAS newsletter (view last week’s issue here) …because I decided to RE-INVENT myself in celebration of 2 years since I  relocated to Benin Republic on 1st April 2013.

As a Performance Improvement Specialist, I believe in actively pursuing Continuous Improvement in EVERY area of endeavour I am engaged in.

The result of that exercise is that I now have 2 newsletters, instead of one, with a major modification in the nature of content and offers I will be making to my readers.

Newsletter No. 1: The Speaking/Web Marketing IDEAS Newsletter

Next Monday, 13th April 2013 (AFTER Nigeria’s Governorship Elections are over), the original Speaking IDEAS newsletter will return with NAME – and CONTENT – CHANGES.

When I launched the Speaking IDEAS newsletter, in 2011, it was to promote speaker mentoring products and services offered by Burt Dubin, who I represent as Sole Agent across Africa.

Over the years, I have modified my approach and strategy based on what I observed to be the trends in subscriptions and feedback from readers.
