Preamble

In 2013, Tayo Solagbade escaped the Lagos grind, moving to Cotonou to launch a Location-Independent Career. By leveraging his bilingual skills (French/English) and Excel expertise, he built a successful coaching and digital products business (SD Nuggets™). Today, he lives as a traveling multipreneur, providing professional services across West Africa.

For seven years (1994 – 2001), Tayo Solagbade was a high-performing manager working in the Brewing, Packaging and Training Departments at Guinness Nigeria, known for using his ability (in his spare time) to automate complex reports using Excel. But in 2002, he chose a different life – quitting his high paying job to pursue a long standing dream to be self-employed.

As is often the case for new entrepreneurs, starting up was tough, and he struggled more than a bit. Progress happened but was often hard to sustain. Peculiar challenges and hardships in the Nigerian space made the going even tougher. After deep reflection and some online research, he decided a change of environment was needed. So, on April 1, 2013, he packed his bags and relocated from the chaotic, fast-paced Lagos to Cotonou in the Benin Republic.
