Proven Techniques(And Strategies) You Can Use To Start And Finish Writing ANYTHING

Are you like most people who want to write, but struggle? Then this article can help you. How many times have you come up with a title for an article, report, book, or speech/talk, but failed to get beyond the first page? In this article I share a number of techniques(and strategies) that I personally use individually, and in combination, on a regular basis to start and finish writing my articles, books, reports – and even speeches/talks I have to deliver! All the original publications available on this website were written using one or more of these methods. Some I learnt about from reading other authors’ advice, while others I actually conceived and developed by myself. Where the latter is the case, I have taken pains to mention it :-).

Ten Ways You Can Use Self-Development To Create The Future You Want

Many people have no idea there is an almost scientific method they can employ to achieve their personal or work-related goals, repeatedly and consistently. Organisations on their part fail to acknowledge their limits when it comes to getting improved productivity from their employees. No matter how hard it tries, a company cannot develop its employees significantly. Peter Drucker, in The Practice of Management (Heinemann, 1955), said taking responsibility for development of employees would be “foolish pretension”. I agree. The truth is, ONLY the employee can develop herself. Get her to strive willingly, and perpetually to become better on the job, and she will deliver greater productivity that you could ever pay for! The organisation only needs to encourage and facilitate diligent practice of Self-Development(SD) by employees. For those NOT in paid employment, the diligent practice of SD offers equally beneficial prospects. That’s why I assure you, that you can develop yourself to be able to repeatedly deliver superlative performances that will inevitably result in success for you in ANY chosen area of endeavour. How? By applying the “Ten Ways” described in this article, the way I will show you.

Are Your Employees Happy & Satisfied With Their Jobs?(A Ten Item Quiz That Can Help You Find Out)

During my time in paid employment, I often discussed extensively with other employees within and outside my company about the workplace, employment conditions, boss-surbodinate relationships, job satisfaction etc.

Most times people I spoke with dwelt more on the monetary remuneration/benefits they received from their companies as a means for deciding whether or not to be “happy” with their jobs/companies.

But in certain instances I found that some (like me), wanted more than that – such as freedom to express their individuality in doing their work; more recognition from the company for their contributions etc.

This article explains why – I believe – decision makers need to work hard to measure(possibly using a short Employee Morale Gauge quiz like the one I developed) and nurture the morale of their employees/team members IF the organisation is to progress.

Compete ONLY Against Yourself – And Enjoy The Rewards Of Being A Truly Liberated Mind!

Due to the way some people have been brought up – coupled with the programming done on their minds in formal schooling systems – they believe that to get ahead in life, they need to compete with another person. That’s why you find people who claim to be friends(sometimes even relatives) working hard to outdo one another.

One frequent fallout of their desperation to better(or get “one-up” on) each other is the absence of true sincerity, love and free, candid expression of feelings that would normally be expected to exist in such relationships.

I believe anyone who wants to get great fulfillment in life, must live without carrying the burden of anxiety caused by a need to keep up with, or outdo another person, in order to look good/appear successful.

This article explains why competing ONLY against yourself(like I do!) will help you live a more productive, fulfilling and LONGER life.

Judge People By What They Can Do, Not By How They Look!

Many of us have also heard the saying that “Appearances can be deceptive”. I once heard someone say in an American sitcom that “clothes don’t make a man”. Then there is the dictum “You cannot judge a book by its cover”. This last one makes me ask why therefore people who should know better STILL insist on judging others by how they look at a point in time.

Know How To Deal With People Who Mock And Ridicule You?

The minute you take that decision to pursue a worthy goal(defined as one that majority would rather avoid, for fear of failure etc), you immediately become prone to being used as the butt end of jokes by those you consider to be your friends, relatives etc. Many people find they cannot stand the scrutiny, and humiliation that comes with trying to do what no one has (or few people have) ever done before. So, they quit, and it ends there. If you know you really want to achieve your worthy goal, and you are determined not to cut ANY corners in reaching it(regardless of how painful your failures/setbacks are), then you need to learn how to deal with the widespread problem of mockery, ridicule, gossip and even direct attacks from those you come across during your journey. This article gives practical tips you will find very useful.

Write Great Articles That Get Read, By Computing The Readers’ Interest Index (RII)™ For Your Articles As A Guide!

It is possible to write a great article that never gets read by most of those who visit the site it is published on, even though it contains useful information they would appreciate – IF they saw it. A major reason why this happens is often the article title: No matter how loaded the complete article is with useful knowledge for readers, if the title is not “attention-getting”, and “action-inducing” enough to compel them to click “for more”, you may not be rewarded with as much exposure as your efforts would deserve. (Then there is of course the issue of keyword research in crafting an article title, which ultimately affects how easily an article will get found via search engines). Read this article to learn about the “Article Readers’ Interest Index (RII)™ Analysis” that can help you determine what titles your visiting online readers are most interested in. What you discover using that tool, will better equip you to decide, more intelligently, on the next article title/area to write on, that will give you the maximum marketing exposure you desire.

A “System” That Can Produce Millionaire African Writers

On page 36 of the Daily Sun (Nigerian Tabloid) of Tuesday June 21, 2005, a report was published titled “Our System can’t produce millionaire writers”. It was written by Amaka Adetula based on an interview with Nduka Otiono – a Poet and Secretary of Association of Nigerian Writers (ANA).

[NB: This write-up is based on an original piece written/published online on spontaneousdevelopment.com (in 2005)]

Nduka’s commentary on the state of writing in Nigeria was indeed illuminating. Continue reading

In my Ten Ways self-help manual, I referred to a definition of luck given by someone as: “when preparation meets opportunity”. Well, that was just one of the many definitions of luck that have been given by people who have achieved success (see more below). Some people always try to explain away another person’s success (or lack of it) as being due to luck (or bad luck). But the fact remains very obvious to anyone who will take an objective look at the issue. There is NO shortcut. Lasting success, very frequently, comes to those who apply themselves with commitment to a chosen cause. Continue reading
