PII 063: You Can Use Video Marketing to Attract Profitable Buyers For Your Products [Hint: Get Ideas & Support]

You see, I’d gone though a lot of stress, inconvenience and hardship using conventional door to door salesman-style pavement pounding marketing methods to win clients.

And it was just not working well enough for the kinds of solutions I offered.

I was getting too few clients and they were paying just too little, compared to the time and effort I always had to invest in return for what they paid me.

One example: In 2008, I recall getting paid N40,000.0 for a job that took me all of 2 months to complete – and I mean every day of those 2 months, in which I would leave home as early as 6.00a.m to drive down to the home based small scale factory premises of the client, where I would then work, on site, from 7.30a.m till sometimes well past midnight – after which I would drive about 45 minutes to get back home, and repeat the same routine the next day.

Yep. I worked a lot like that back then, because it took so much hard work to find new client work, with people willing to pay anything worthwhile.

But I always knew there had to be a better way.

So I began to research alternative ways to make sales. As time went on, I came up with the idea of selling products I’d worked so hard to create for other clients. This option had the distinct advantage of getting me paid without my having to commit to the crazy on site work regimen of building new apps or website for clients.

In case you wonder why I had to work on site…

It was not all the time. But there were often times when the nature/scope of work made it smarter to offer clients the option to pay less, if they covered my electricity/fueling costs.

All of that has however long been in the past. It’s now been over 4 years since I began working 100% online selling my products to buyers from within and outside Africa.

For instance, as recently as last week, I received payment from a Farm CEO, who has still NOT met face to face with me, for 5 of my products, which he purchased via a time limited promotional offer I emailed to him.

This gentleman had done a Google search that led him to watch Video Demonstrations of my products and he’d then submitted a web form enquiry to request details about how to buy them.

2. I replied using my generic template, asking him to call me, so I could ask him a few questions. The next day, he did that, and after I’d gotten satisfactory answers to the questions I asked him. I told him the prices for the products he’d asked about, and later sent him the email offer. That night, he sent full payment via bank transfer, and notified me via email.

3. Once I confirmed the payment, I prepared personalized copies of the products and emailed them to him.

The process I’ve just described above is the Sales Cycle that most of my buyers go through; based on the automated Web Marketing System I propagate using the web. Central to the operation and success of this system is an intelligent use of smart (not fancy!) Video based Marketing.

It is worth noting here that over 80% of my sales today come as a result of exposure of prospective buyers to my Video Marketing.

Not just that, I have clients in my network who have gotten referrals from me, through my system that led them to make money.

For instance, last month, a prospective pig farm business CEO who purchased my Feed Formulation Handbook and Software, asked me for help in locating a reliable Pig Farm Business Owner/Consultant that he could connect with for guidance, towards successful startup.

I wasted no time in referring him to a member of my Farm Business Ideas club who I knew owned a Pig Farm Business in a large Farm Settlement (Gberigbe) in Lagos. They have since met face to face – money has changed hands between both parties, and I understand they are looking to do more business together.

The irony of it all is that I STILL have NEVER met face to face with the prospective Pig Farm Business owner. What a great way to make a difference and an impact: I LOVE It!

The good Professor Niyi Osundare wrote the poem below quite a while back about Nigeria’s Judiciary and Legal Profession.

Sadly, his words remain ever so relevant today.

This is one of many reasons I argue that most conventional “schools” offer limited real world relevant preparation – especially in a society like Nigeria.

We are supposed to be trained in learning and character, when we pass through school. Character is so important for long term success achievement in adult life.

What we see in today’s Nigeria indicates very little of character building happens in the schooling majority of our population gets.

If that was not the case, we would not have such a dominant majority eagerly engaging in and supporting blatant wrong doing for personal gain. Societies where schools work are not like that!

The Professor eloquently describes the sad state of affairs in our country today, in the following words:

PII 053: If Achievement of Authentic Non-Corner-Cutting Web Marketing Success Was Easy, Everyone Would Be Doing It! [Hint: What You Need to KNOW – and DO]

Forget the hype you encounter so often online. Achieving tangible, authentic and reproducible web marketing success does NOT come easy – at all.

So it’s a never ending endeavour.

In my case, one powerful weapon I have successfully leveraged to achieve growing web marketing success over the years, has been the Web Marketing System I conceived several years ago.

Today, I help clients within and outside Nigeria, develop and implement their own unique WMS to promote their products and services to potential buyers at less cost, using less effort and less money, and in less time.

Adopting a custom Web Marketing System (WMS)™ to promote solutions you offer, to your target audience will make you a member of an elite community of results – focused self-marketing business owners, who leverage this unconventional self-sustaining promotional strategy, to get high impact exposure.

Note however, that if you have been operating in a different way before now, and not had the results you wanted, then you must understand that CHANGING to this new approach is highly unlikely to yield 100% profitable returns overnight.

In essence I’m saying that your learning must never stop. Indeed you will need to be perpetually hungry for new perspectives you can use to make your marketing more effective.

This is because business marketing is about communication – ultimately.

The quality of useful information and education you offer people who fit your target audience profile, will draw them to you even when you don’t use paid adverts.

The above is a TRUTH that is known by the world’s top marketers – including the 2 gentlemen I’ve recommended i.e. Burt Dubin and Michel Fortin.

What I do today for clients is based on ideas and strategies I developed by studying their works (and those of many others I took time to read up) towards achieving my own business marketing purpose

[Recommended] Why Nigerians Hate Igbo – by Chinua Achebe

When I saw the thought provoking Facebook post/query (shown below) by Joe Ibekwe, I instantly recalled the words of Chinua Achebe in the last book he gifted us before passing on.

However, a quick check in my travel bag soon revealed, to my dismay, that I’d left my well read Copy of Achebe’s “There Was a Country” back in Cotonou.

Out of desperation, I Googled to find reviews or commentaries on the book that may have highlighted the sentiments expressed by Achebe, that I felt held the answers Joe (and others seeking insights) would appreciate.

I was not disappointed: I found EVERYTHING I needed – and even more…bless the Google team for making and keeping this search engine so powerful!

So much so, that I have NO need to add anything else.

Instead, I simply invite any persons interested in getting accurate answers to the excellent poser by Joe, to read Chinua’s words on the pages linked below:

Let me note here that I’m Yoruba, but my LOVE for the positive attributes of the average Igbo person has NEVER been hidden.

Articles (like this one) on this blog provide verifiable proof of the fact that I admire those qualities in them and admonish other Nigerians and indeed Africans to emulate them.

Yet, even I have noticed certain shortcomings that characterize majority of them.

My respect for Chinua Achebe’s honesty and his capacity for balanced reasoning grew exponentially, when I read his words below, in which he identified certain Igbo tendencies that often make others despise them – in spite of their many positive attributes.

Here’s how Nigeria’s The Nation newspaper captured it in “Why Nigerians Hate Igbo – by Chinua Achebe”:

Achebe, however, saved some criticisms for his kinsmen. He criticised them for what he described as “hubris, overweening pride and thoughtlessness, which invite envy and hatred or even worse that can obsess the mind with material success and dispose it to all kinds of crude showiness.”

He added that “contemporary Igbo behavior(that) cab offend by its noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness.”

Judging from my personal experiences as a conscious thinking adult over the past 30 years in paid and self-employment, I believe Achebe’s criticisms are spot on!

I honestly believe that if the average Igbo person minimizes display of any of the negative tendencies highlighted by Chinua Achebe, s/he is likely to experience little or no friction with most people from other tribes or cultures s/he encounters.

Let it be known however, that I speak primarily for MYSELF (and maybe others who think like me) and not for the generality of Nigerians, talk less Africans.

I was getting too few clients and they were paying just too little, compared to the time and effort I always had to invest in return for what they paid me.

But I always knew there had to be a better way.

Out of desperation, I Googled to find reviews or commentaries on the book that may have highlighted the sentiments expressed by Achebe, that I felt held the answers Joe (and others seeking insights) would appreciate.

Why Nigerians hate Igbo, by Chinua Achebe.

Let me note here that I’m Yoruba, but my LOVE for the positive attributes of the average Igbo person has NEVER been hidden.

My respect for Chinua Achebe’s honesty and his capacity for balanced reasoning grew exponentially, when I read his words below, in which he identified certain Igbo tendencies that often make others despise them – in spite of their many positive attributes.

Judging from my personal experiences as a conscious thinking adult over the past 30 years in paid and self-employment, I believe Achebe’s criticisms are spot on!
