Do you ignore efforts to Identify and Stop Domestic Violence Against Men (DVAM)? Let’s hope your silence (or indifference) does not cause your son, brother, uncle, dad or other male loved ones to suffer like those who tell their stories on batteredmen dot com featured below:
=
“It(DVAM) doesn’t happen.” “It only happens to a few guys–puny, little guys.” “Women who batter only do it in self-defense.” “I wonder what he did, to make her do that?”
There are a lot of myths floating around.
In these pages, we present men’s stories, in their own words.
Story 1:
Another man, whose story is not here e-mailed me:
“I have a problem.
I feel that, if I report my wife, I will be the one that winds up in custody.
When I mentioned dialing 911 while my wife was hitting me with a skilet this morning, she told me to “Go ahead – I will just tell them that I was defending myself”.
Story 2:
“My wife—in one of her drunken rages—took our daughter’s baseball bat and used it to smash the locked door to my study, where I was trying desperately to meet a deadline. And since I’m over 6 feet tall and muscular, I wouldn’t get much sympathy posing as a “battered man!”: I had thought of calling the police that night. When I recalled this incident to my divorce lawyer some time later, his response was: “It’s a good thing you didn’t, because the police probably would have arrested you.”

If you want to sell successfully, and for the long term, in a manner that is sustainable, you need to LEARN how to DEMONSTRATE to potential buyers, that solutions you offer are exactly what s/he needs. I offer ideas (and support) you can use below.
Since, most times, especially when using the web, it is unlikely that you will get a chance to speak to, and convince, a potential buyer via face to face interactions, the reality is that you will need to put in place a system that enables you to say ENOUGH of what you normally need to say, remotely, to win him/her over.
From 2005, when I decided to come online (via spontaneousdevelopment.com – now defunct), to begin offering my products and services via the web, the above stated goal (of winning total strangers over as buyers without face-to-face meeting) dominated my thinking.
NB: This PI Squared newsletter will be published weekly, on Mondays, in place of the Speaking/Web Marketing IDEAS newsletter, starting from today – 15th February 2016. PII 063: You Can Use Video Marketing to Attract Profitable Buyers For Your Products [Hint: Get Ideas & Support]
You see, I’d gone though a lot of stress, inconvenience and hardship using conventional door to door salesman-style pavement pounding marketing methods to win clients.
And it was just not working well enough for the kinds of solutions I offered.
I was getting too few clients and they were paying just too little, compared to the time and effort I always had to invest in return for what they paid me.
One example: In 2008, I recall getting paid N40,000.0 for a job that took me all of 2 months to complete – and I mean every day of those 2 months, in which I would leave home as early as 6.00a.m to drive down to the home based small scale factory premises of the client, where I would then work, on site, from 7.30a.m till sometimes well past midnight – after which I would drive about 45 minutes to get back home, and repeat the same routine the next day.
Yep. I worked a lot like that back then, because it took so much hard work to find new client work, with people willing to pay anything worthwhile.
But I always knew there had to be a better way.
So I began to research alternative ways to make sales. As time went on, I came up with the idea of selling products I’d worked so hard to create for other clients. This option had the distinct advantage of getting me paid without my having to commit to the crazy on site work regimen of building new apps or website for clients.
In case you wonder why I had to work on site…
It was not all the time. But there were often times when the nature/scope of work made it smarter to offer clients the option to pay less, if they covered my electricity/fueling costs.
For instance, as recently as last week, I received payment from a Farm CEO, who has still NOT met face to face with me, for 5 of my products, which he purchased via a time limited promotional offer I emailed to him.
This gentleman had done a Google search that led him to watch Video Demonstrations of my products and he’d then submitted a web form enquiry to request details about how to buy them.
2. I replied using my generic template, asking him to call me, so I could ask him a few questions. The next day, he did that, and after I’d gotten satisfactory answers to the questions I asked him. I told him the prices for the products he’d asked about, and later sent him the email offer. That night, he sent full payment via bank transfer, and notified me via email.
3. Once I confirmed the payment, I prepared personalized copies of the products and emailed them to him.
The process I’ve just described above is the Sales Cycle that most of my buyers go through; based on the automated Web Marketing System I propagate using the web. Central to the operation and success of this system is an intelligent use of smart (not fancy!) Video based Marketing.
It is worth noting here that over 80% of my sales today come as a result of exposure of prospective buyers to my Video Marketing.
Not just that, I have clients in my network who have gotten referrals from me, through my system that led them to make money.
For instance, last month, a prospective pig farm business CEO who purchased my Feed Formulation Handbook and Software, asked me for help in locating a reliable Pig Farm Business Owner/Consultant that he could connect with for guidance, towards successful startup.
I wasted no time in referring him to a member of my Farm Business Ideas club who I knew owned a Pig Farm Business in a large Farm Settlement (Gberigbe) in Lagos. They have since met face to face – money has changed hands between both parties, and I understand they are looking to do more business together.
The irony of it all is that I STILL have NEVER met face to face with the prospective Pig Farm Business owner. What a great way to make a difference and an impact: I LOVE It!
But what makes it possible for me to work this way today, and NEVER again need to do all that manual labour I used to do, to find customers?
It’s my strategic use of Video Marketing, based on an elaborate Web Marketing System I conceived, to boost name/brand recognition and win credibility/trust in the mind of prospects
People want to be SURE that you can help them. Video Marketing is a particularly potent medium for SHOWING people what you can do, and how it can help them.
But there is no one-size-fits-all approach for use of this technique. Each person will have to think creatively about how to make it work for him/herself. The way I use it may not be the best way for you to use it.
That’s why I offer to help any business owners who are interested in creative smart TIMELESS marketing videos that NEVER expire, to promote their products and services.
I do it, and it wins me paying clients internationally, without my having to pay for any advertising. Examples of videos I use include the following:
Example: How to Correct Excess Energy Content in a Livestock Ration [Feed Formulation Home Study Video Series]
I use the video below THIS screenshot to show prospective buyers excerpts of what my Feed Formulation Handbook offers.
To get the results I do, all I do is to DILIGENTLY use the rest of my Web Marketing System to propagate the video marketing resources I create. Note that HOW I do it is however the reason I succeed in making REPEAT sales without needing to leave home!
What I do is something ANY business owner can successfully do for his/her brand, IF s/he knows how. I offer to do it for you, or coach you to do it yourself, if you are interested.
Over the past 14 years, I’ve developed custom Web Marketing Systems (WMS) for clients in a wide variety of industries e.g. real estate, audiology/hearing and speech improvement, medical consulting, real estate investing, leadership consulting, health and fitness, hospitality (hotels, restaurants, and bars), legal consulting and others.
My multidisciplinary aptitude equips me to work with clients in virtually any industry, handling ALL their Web Marketing needs remotely, anonymously, confidentially.
I can do the same for you!
Like I explain using the mind map I created, Video Marketing is one of the 9 key components of a WMS that can be used to take one’s business marketing to the next level. If THAT is what you want for your brand,

Excerpts from this Wikipedia article offer insights into just how imbalanced the reporting and understanding of Domestic Violence Against Men (DVAM) really is….!
Violence by women against men is widespread and underreported. The official figure in the United Kingdom, for example, is about 50% of the number of acts of violence by men against women, but there are indications that only about 10% of male victims of female violence report the incidents to the authorities, mainly due to taboos and fears of misunderstanding created by a culture of masculine expectations.[9]
A report from Canada even found men to be more than 22% more likely to be victims of spousal violence than women.[9][10] Sexual violence by women against men is even more taboo and even less studied or recognized.[11]
Men who are victims of domestic violence are at times reluctant to report it or to seek help. There is also an established paradigm that only males perpetrate domestic violence and are never victims.[26] As with other forms of violence against men, intimate partner violence is generally less recognized in society when the victims are men.[27][28]
Violence of women against men in relationships is often ‘trivialized'[3][29][30] due to the supposed weaker physique of women; in such cases the use of dangerous objects and weapons is omitted.[3] Research since the 1990s has identified issues of perceived and actual bias when police are involved, with the male victim being negated even whilst injured.[31]
Writing for TIME, Cathy Young (http://time.com/3432838/emma-watson-feminism-men-women/) criticised the feminist movement for not doing enough to challenge double standards in the treatment of male victims of physical abuse and sexual assault.[22]
The title of this book alone (cover shown below) speaks wisdom. My March 2016 article (titled, in part “Parenting Is NOT A Democracy…” – previewed/linked further down) is similarly themed. Wise parents will take heed before it is too late.
I must warn you before you open the pages of this book; this will not be a “softball” or “appeasement” or “politically correct” book. The systematic strategy for dismantling and destroying the family unit and the God-given potential for greatness we each carry within us is no longer knocking at your door. We can no longer take the posture of back- seat drivers; reacting as if we are helpless kidnapped- passengers being dragged along for the ride by an oversized bully, incapable or unwilling to make the choices necessary to maintain the character and integrity of the home. Whether you are a two- parent home or a single- parent home, the choices we face are still the same. We can either choose to fold up our tents and raise the white flag of surrender or we can choose to stop complaining about everything that is wrong with the world and fight. If you want to win and you refuse to compromise the future of your child to a world bent on promoting the worst in your child instead of getting the best out of them, then keep reading. ‘My Home is Not A Democracy’ draws a line in the sand, offers sound strategies for effective parenting and challenges every reader to stand your ground and fight for the future of your families.

PII 062: Anatomy of Farm Operation Record Form Used to Collect data for Tayo Solagbade’s Excel-VB Poultry Farm Manager
This issue of my Performance Improvement Ideas newsletter features a dissection of the sections in Farm Operations Record Keeping Form that comes ready-to-print in my popular Excel-VB Poultry Farm Manager software.
To use it, the client simply prints out a copy using the command button provided in the app’s Menu (see top left of Form Section No. 1 below).
Then photocopies of the printed blank form are produced, with a copy being filled in daily, by the farm hands or other assigned personnel, using records from the shop floor or as the activities to be documented happen.
Ideally, what should happen next is that at the end of each day’s work, the farm hand that filled in the form would sign in the space provided, and hand it over to the supervisor/manager or owner – depending on the management structure in place.
The latter would then retire to a preferably quiet location, free from distractions, to review each completed form, and once certain that the filled details are valid, s/he would proceed to post them into the relevant interfaces in the software.
Form Section No. 1: Laying Pens
The operative will start by filling in the name of the farm in front of “Farm:” and s/he will also fill in the date in front of “Date:”
Note that the app automatically applies the name of the farm at the very top of the page, just immediately above “Production Record Chart”
This section caters for the flock of laying birds on the farm. Data entered here gets posted into the Layers table in the app. Note the different table fields, which identify layers in different states or conditions, for the purpose of reconciling opening and closing flock sizes.
The form provides for entry of data for up to 3 pens, with each pen having 3 cage lines. In the original version of the app, it has 6 cage lines per pen.
If diligently used, this form section forces the operative to physically check the number of birds and also account for dead, missing, culled, or tranferred ones.
S/he would be kept on his/her toes knowing that when his/her form in filed in the records folder, it could be referred to at a later date for use in tracing any inconsistencies that could arise in the future.
To the right, after the flock record, comes the Feeding Record column. The user posts the total amount (kg) of feed fed to the birds in each cage line. The app instantly generates the grammes consumed by each bird in that cage line. Best practice range is 100 to 110 grammes per bird.
Next comes the egg laying record, The user has to post relevant numbers of eggs collected from each cage line, per pen.
And this has to be done according to the number of times collection is done. From working with multiple farms to customize this software, I found it was safe to settle for collections done twice daily. The specific times the collections are done vary from farm to farm – the software allows the users post as/when the data becomes available.
Another KPI computed by the app is the Hen Day Percentage (HDP).
It uses the egg laying data posted to generate the corresponding HDP. Best practice range for the HDP is from 65% up to about 85%. It is unlikely that most small to medium sized farms can record anything higher with any degree of consistency in terms of farm overall average HDP.
NB: Anything outside best practice range, for any of the measured parameters, should raise some cause for concern, and action should be taken to find out why it is so. The app’s charted display of the KPIs offers good opportunity to better determine if any unhealthy trend is occurring.
Form Section No. 2: Rearing Pens
The younger birds – pullets to be specific – will come from rearing pens into the cages. So this section naturally does NOT have provision for eggs collection, since this group of birds will not yet have reach Point Of Lay (POL)
As a result, the record required to be kept for them only has to do with flock size and names of farm personnel who handled each Pen.
Below is a preview of an article I wrote about 10 years ago, in which I explain the different Key Performance Indicators in terms of what they measure, why they are useful for farm management decision making, and how to calculate them (which is also how my Excel-VB Poultry Farm Manager does it!)
Practical Poultry Farm Business Performance Calculations
Introduction
In this article, I share VERY practical, real world relevant tips about performance measures you can compute daily, weekly, monthly and at the end of year to accurately determine at every stage whether your poultry farm business is operating optimally.
These performance indices are NOT aggregate measures. In other words, they are NOT measured in monetary terms. Instead they have NO units, being ratios, usage rates and percentages that help to (a) establish a normal trend of your farms’ behaviour (b) quickly identify/detect departures from that trend, so that you can take timely/corrective action.
Note that these measures are tried and tested, and are actually built into a custom spreadsheet software application I built for a client who runs a Twelve thousand (12,000) layer poultry farm business.
Form Section No. 3: Eggs Transportation & Operators Checklist
Most of the farms I’ve sold this app to, do not have elaborate egg sizing classes. In many cases small and big were the 2 classes used, for sale. Cracked eggs featured on all farms.
Now, the table below the eggs transportation records table contains a Daily Operator Checklist designed to force each operative assigned to fill this farm record form, to stay alert to his/her duties in a way that would ensure best practice conformity at the end of the day.
So, on the form you see tasks specifications for each pen e.g remove litter daily into pit, and so on.
Notice that at the bottom of the form, provision is made for the supervisor or any responsible staff, to sign that s/he has seen the completed form, and that s/he has checked/confirmed that what she filled in was accurate and true representation of the situation on the farm.
It goes without saying that no serious minded supervisor or manager wants to be found wanting when checks are carried out on the signed forms against the reality on the farm grounds.
So, quite often this document section forces the staff or manager in charge to go out of his/her way to check and ascertain/ensure that all is done right.
In the process, best practice conformity is achieved!
Proper use of this farm record form, or an adapted version of it, can dramatically boost the accuracy and reliability of record keeping on any farm. It only requires diligent enforcement by the farm management.

And these fair minded females are demanding more recognition for DV Against Men.
Most are mothers to sons and siblings to brothers who they’ve seen suffer serious abuse at the hands of female partners.
Many are joining the movement to inform and educate, as are the men in their lives.
The information in the truly excellent (!) article published by the famous Mayo clinic (MayoClinic.org) – which is previewed/linked below – can help you get started learning what you need to know, to identify and stop DVAM
So I say this to you now…
If you’re male, lookout for the signs for YOUR own sake…
If you’re parent to someone who is male, and you really care for him lookout for the signs for HIS sake…,
If you’re uncle/aunt/brother/sister or relative to someone who is male, lookout for these signs for HIS sake…,…
Domestic violence against men: Know the signs – Mayo Clinic
Domestic violence against men isn’t always easy to identify, but it can be a serious threat. Know how to recognize if you’re being abused — and how to get help.
By Mayo Clinic Staff
Women aren’t the only victims of domestic violence. Understand the signs of domestic violence against men, and know how to get help.
Recognize domestic violence against men
Domestic violence — also known as intimate partner violence — occurs between people in an intimate relationship. Domestic violence against men can take many forms, including emotional, sexual and physical abuse and threats of abuse. It can happen in heterosexual or same-sex relationships.
A new generation of shrewdly manipulative and cunningly abusive women are using protective systems put in place by society to exploit males that are their intimate partners.
In other words, they are gaming the system and by so doing are making a mockery of the eFforts to stop domestic violence by exploiting stereotypes about males being the only perpetrators, to abuse their partners at will while readily adopting the accepted posture of “victim in self-defence” when their actions come under scrutiny.
What they do, they teach other women and their own daughters, who rarely know better.
We need to fight and stop this trend. Our sons, brothers, fathers, uncles and other loved ones who beloing to the male gender, remain at grave risk if we don’t.
That’s why I’ve launched the page described below…
Page Name:
Domestic Violence Against Men – Ideas for Identifying & Stopping It
Page Description:
This page is dedicated to empowering men who find themselves, by some accident of fate on the receiving end of abuse from an intimate female partner.

To formally close the maiden year (May 2016 to May 2017) in the life of my Excel Heaven Visual Basic Automation club, I’ve decided to conduct a LIVE hands-on workshop titled “SPREADSHEET AUTOMATION WORKSHOP INVITATION: Anatomy of N200k Excel-VB Cash Book Spreadsheet Software [Secrets to Build Yours Successfully]“.
Duration: 11a.m to 5p.m
Location: Sherryville Arcade, Ojodu-Berger Bus Stop, Opposite First Bank Plc, Ikeja – Lagos
Date: Sat 29th May 2017
The commercial quality Excel-VB software application to be reviewed is one that I built for a large Specialist Hospital based in Ogudu, Lagos in 2007, for approximately $1000 USD equivalent at the time (Back then $1 USD = N200)
Name: Excel-VB Driven General Accounts Manager [GAM]
Watch the YouTube demonstration video on my YouTube channel at:
Below are its key features and details of the app:
Description: This is a highly sophisticated Automated Cash Book with a Powerful Modeless Dynamic Data Entry Form & Menu Driven Reports Summaries Generator.
Allows user to post cash office receipt using in-house format register (cash, cheque. value card etc) and payment (expense) amounts using custom automated floating modeless data entry forms.
Automatically generates – using drop menus – Weekly, Monthly/Annual Income & Expense Reports on one A4 page.
The reports are integrated with charts/graphs of EACH heading value
During the workshop, I will show attendees the various interfaces in the app, and demonstrate how they were built from scratch, using a blank workbook template.
In other words, by the time we are done, a simplistic version of the app would have been built – though not with all the bells and whistles I added to the real app, for obvious reasons that they would take more time to incorporate.
Attendees will be able to ask questions and try their hands at doing what I show them.
My learning events are always EXPERIENTIAL i.e. designed to give learners what they need to know, in a way that builds on what they already know, and what they already do in their work/on their jobs.
This event is designed to be a way of saying THANK YOU to members of my Excel Heaven club over the past maiden year (May 2016 to May 2017)
From 1st May 2017, ALL members will be required to renew their membership for another year, to continue receiving the weekly email tutorials I send out.
All those who attend the event will get FREE copies of a home study video tutorial version of the workshop that I will create AHEAD of the event.
The reason is to ensure that they are able to study and understand anything we are unable to cover in the event using the DVD version.
Question: So, what’s the FEE for attending this Workshop Event “Anatomy of an Excel-VB Driven Commercial Automated Cash Book Spreadsheet Software [Including Tips of How to Build It from Scratch]”?
Answer: Simply pay the ONE year membership fee of $65 USD @ N200 per dollar i.e. N13, 000.0
The above payment requirement is however for non-members.
Payment gets you the DVD FREE, PLUS ONE full year of club membership (May 2017 to May 2018).
IMPORTANT NOTE TO CURRENT EXCEL HEAVEN VISUAL BASIC AUTOMATION CLUB MEMBERS:
All current club members should recall that their membership entitles them to a 50% discount, for life, to buy my products/services.
That therefore means they only have to pay N6,500.0 to attend this event, and also get the double benefit of the FREE Tutorial DVD and renewed membership from May 2017 to May 2018.
