EXCERPT: I recently did a domain name availability check for a new domain one of my clients expressed interest in registering.
The client wanted the name on a .com TLD (Top Level Domain). Unfortunately, the search result revealed the .com variant was “Unavailable”. But the .net, .biz and .org alternatives were available – so we chose one, after a short discussion.
Later on, however, out of curiousity, I decided to visit .com domain name address that we discovered was already taken, to see who was using it. Why?
