Apart from launching 2 re-invented newsletters next week, and morphing this blog’s content, my best practice parenting articles are also evolving e.g THIS article announces (with a photo) my kids’ first American Style Easter Eggs making effort merged with the 1st birthday anniversary for Tayo Kayode Solagbade Junior (TKSJ)!
As I type this, my 13 year old boy is sitting next to me in the café, with a pack containing cake icing and a gun for applying it, which we just purchased from a neighbourhood store.
His brothers and sisters are back at home using our trademark charcoal stove and pot (no oven) cake baking system, to produce a set of cup cakes to be used for the small celebration.
In the past, we’ve always left the cakes “naked” and sold them that way.
However, because this time around one of us is celebrating his birthday, we decided to LEARN how to prepare icing and create some special icing designs on our cakes.
Who will we be learning from? The Internet…as usual. That was how it all began over a year ago in late 2013(click to read PDF)!
We have already prepared a full pot of our pineapple peel cake which will be used to push down the cakes.
The Easter eggs making process almost got the better of us. But we eventually managed to finish with something to show. The plan is to get TKSJ to take photos with the cakes, drinks and Easter eggs on display.
Have to go offline now, and join them. It’s getting dark and they’ve complained that I kept them waiting while I was away at a client meeting in Ikeja.
Full details will be publishing in tomorrow’s blog. For now, here’s a photo of our final Easter eggs…lol
