How to Attract Profitable REPEAT Buyers for Your Farm Products – at ZERO COST!

“Mr Tayo, Good morning. I’m greatly pleased with your advice and sale strategies given to promote increase in yields and low over head costs. Please kindly permit me to use this avenue to request every assistance you could offer in getting buyers for my cat fish. I live in Akure, in Ondo state. I really need your help in this regard. I appreciate your sincere efforts and anticipated response. Thanks. from Engr Taiwo <surname removed>. 080<phone number removed>”

Tomorrow, I launch my new “Sales & Marketing Coaching Program for Farm Business CEOs”

It will be a video DVD series coupled with an optional LIVE support service. Frequent requests for help from farm CEOs (like the one reproduced above) finally made me decide to offer this formal service.

What some of us take for granted, is like rocket science to others.

I think I was born with ready made selling skills. My mother once told me I am capable of persuading a person to do almost anything.

Maybe that was an exaggeration.

But I can confirm that this ability of mind is the key to my increasingly growing success as an entrepreneur – both online and off the web.

In developing and implementing my business marketing strategies, I have never attended any formal training.

Instead, most of what I do today I conceived on my own, sometimes after studying what other successful experts were doing.

Many times however, I followed my intuition and instincts to add my own unique twist in implementing whatever I learnt.

As a result, I have over time succeeded in using fairly unusually creative methods to successfully promote my products and services to specific target audiences.

The problem however has always been that I simply assumed that I only needed to hint at what I’d done, for others to learn how to do it for themselves too. I wrongly assumed others could easy learn how to do it themselves the way I did it.

So I’ve been writing many articles sharing my ideas, but without offering full details – be it free or for a fee.

The result has been that so many farm CEOs who read my “Smart Farm Business Marketing Ideas” articles keep calling me to ask if I can help them put them to use.

Most times I’ve simply replied that they try doing the needed thinking to make successful use of them – giving them additional tips on phone.

But then a few days ago I discovered the above email, that I surprisingly missed when it came into my Facebook message in box on February 5th 2012 – 2 years ago!

In fact, the same day I saw that email, I discovered 7 others which I also somehow NEVER saw when they arrived – during the past 18 months or so!

And they were from enquirers about my various products and services – from within and outside Nigeria.

What even made this more strange, was the fact that the messages ONLY appear when I check my messages in Facebook from my Blackberry.

Even now, when I check from my laptop, NOT one of them is visible! (If anyone has any clue as to why this happens email me via tayo at tksola dot com – I’d LOVE to know)

Anyway, feeling guilty, I decided to call the gentleman whose email appears above, because he included a phone number (I’ll respond to the others later on).

After I’d introduced myself, he told me he’d been unable to find enough buyers to offload his farm output, and not hearing from me, had decided to suspend his farm operations.

I then asked if he would be willing to resume operations if he could gain access to a reliable action plan for attracting profitable buyers for his products.

He responded in the affirmative.

Apart from his response, my review of marketing challenges faced by poultry farm business owners in some other African nations, also made me resolve to create my “Sales & Marketing Coaching Program for Farm Business CEOs”.

For instance, an article published in the Vanguard newspaper, a few days ago, had this title:

Nigeria: Plateau Poultry Farmers Cry Over Excess Harvest of Eggs (click to read).

In it, we are told the farmers asked the CEO of Grand Cereal and Oil Mills Ltd, producers of Vital feeds, to help them out by mopping up the excess eggs they were stuck with as a result of a glut currently being experienced.

For me, that request was not practical, since Grand Cereals is NOT an NGO, and the CEO needs to ensure spending done yields useful benefits, especially profits to the company. Buying more eggs than they have need for will therefore not really make sense.

Not surprisingly, the CEO advised the farmers to work towards marketing their products more effectively, even as he promised to help out a bit, by purchasing eggs for delivery to schools, as a public service of sorts.

Out of curiosity, I called up a new client who recently bought my Poultry Farm Manager software for use on his farm in Jos, Plateau state.

I asked him if the news about the glut of poultry eggs was true. He confirmed that it was.

When I told him about the service I plan to offer to help farmers facing such a challenge, he promptly told me he would be interested.

That’s what convinced me this would be a good thing to do. My clients very often tell me what new product or service to develop, that will interest them. And this particular challenge was one that I’d actually forseen that I would have to help out with. In fact, I recently published a fictional story about a Farm Business couple (click now) as a basis for sharing my insights on what can be done.

And I always listen!

If you’d like to learn how you can access this DVD program, and the optional support service I offer with it, click here to send me a message now.

Story: After Resolving Layers Feeding Problems, Selling Increased Eggs Output Became a Headache

Insights from BBC’s “Doing Business in Nigeria” article, vs New Income Opportunities I see for Farm Business Owners

The BBC’s “Doing business in Nigeria” article linked below, went live yesterday, and is trending ferociously.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-27081948.

Isn’t it amazing that a newspaper outfit run by a Pulitzer prize winning journalist could have failed in Nigeria, as described in the article?

That reminds me of Richard Branson’s Virgin Nigeria airline partnership that failed in Nigeria few years back, and Branson’s very unflattering comments about how institutionalized corruption killed the venture!

Kudos to the Article’s Author (Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani), and the BBC!

For me, I think it’s great that more people are now willing to write the truth about what it’s really like trying to run an honest and upright business in Nigeria.

All these years I’ve written about clients who literally attacked me for trying to do things right.

Many told me I could not make it in Nigeria. And some went out their way to make sure I did not.

Like I’ve explained in past articles, it got to a point that the Attorney General’s office assigned me a lawyer to respond to a phony petition by an abusive client who wanted to make me work without paying my fees.

That incident, followed by some others, coupled with a confrontation with the local branch of the power company, about bloated bills, made me relocate to Benin Republic

Now, with articles like this, fewer people in their right minds can accuse me of being unpatriotic, or of exaggerating the problem in Nigeria.

In relation to my part-time marketing of high profile solutions like Burt Dubin’s Public Speaking mentoring products and services(as sole agent in Africa), my deep understanding of the “psychology” of Nigerians – as illustrated in the article – is what convinces me VERY few of them with financial means will be prepared to purchase them.

The environment they live and work in operates on completely different rules, compared to the rest of the normal world.

The truth is years of exposure has trained the Nigerian majority to accept most of the absurdities as normal, just like the author noted.

Over a decade of personal experience as an entrepreneur in Nigeria, convince me this is true.

What’s more, some of the comments posted under the BBC article readily add credence to my above assertion, about the uniquely warped “reasoning” that Nigerians in Nigeria employ in doing business locally.

That’s why businesses with contrarian philosophies and strategies end up being stifled to “death” in this country.

Only groups like high profile farm industry players I work with can be influenced to adopt solutions like Burt Dubin’s and those I offer.

Farm businesses cannot flourish with corner cutting, mismanagement or disregard for best practices that occurs in some other industries.

Their owners know that, and that’s why over 80% of orders for my Cost-Saving Farm Business products and services are placed remotely/online by CEOs of farms across Nigeria!

But I see more income earning opportunities most of them do not know are available to them…

There are, for instance, many agricultural conferences and other learning events held across the world that they can aim to serve as experts-who-speak.

The thing is that most don’t know it yet. So I aim to show them, so they can see how the public speaking products and services I promote can help them.

Apart from groups like the above, my focus will also
be on experts in other parts of Africa and beyond, where normalcy still exists.

That’s why I’ll soon be moving to another West African country, after I return to Cotonou – in line with my goals as a Location Independent Multipreneur.

No. 138: Use Constant Innovation to Achieve Authority Status

Over the past decade, my ability to constantly innovate, has earned me massive name recognition I use to successfully attract buyers worldwide.

In this writeup, I explain why/how any willing expert, in any field, can succeed the same way.

First, You Must Understand the Difference between Inventing and Innovating

I read about this on a website managed by UNESCO sometime ago…

When you invent a thing, it means you’ve created something that did not exist before in any form.

That’s why people take out patents on their inventions.

On the other hand, innovation typically involves looking at what has been invented (conceived), and which therefore already exists, then making creative changes to it, to achieve a useful outcome.

It could be an idea, it could be an activity or a process.

You would look at it from a different perspective, and consider different ways of doing it, using it, or thinking about it.

And then you would come up with something, which more often than not, is an improved version of what previously existed.

Now, you will find out that when people invent, it often takes a while before whatever is invented becomes useful in a manner worth investing in by others.

More often than not, a lot of imperfections in the invention will first need to be cleaned out, tidied up.

That’s why other people often have to improve on it, before it can be put to general use.

The above happened with the Fax machine, for instance, when it was first invented.

To achieve your goals as an expert in your field, you don’t want to go around trying to invent things all the time.

That’s because it will often take too long to become ready for mass production, distribution and adoption by people. And you may not be around by the time it gets accepted!

Instead, what you could do is make intelligent modification to the invention, or whatever other concept.

In other words, you would innovate, based on the invention, in a potentially limitless number of ways.

“Constant Innovation” is What I’ve Done Over the Past Decade, and What I Continue to Do Today In My Work

Every single day I try to think of newer and better ways to do what I do. Ways that people have not thought of, but which I am able to conceive.

And the ideas I get, I often put into immediate use.  I don’t waste time.

I’ve had countless conversations with prospect/clients within and outside Africa, who express what I personally consider shockingly high level of confidence in my abilities.

On several occasions, some have used a particular word in referring to me: audacity.

Basically, this is because I announce I’m going to do something new to take my work to the next level.

Then I go right out to achieve that new goal.

I don’t ask permission or seek support or approval.

Very often, I just look at what exists, what had been done, and creatively make changes.

That is the key to succeeding in business or life through constant innovation.

You make changes to what people already do or know, in a manner that produces additional value to people, processes, and/or to yourself.

Being Constantly Innovative Will Add Newer Useful Dimensions To What You Offer

When you innovate relentlessly, someone who saw you – say  last month – will likely be surprised when s/he comes across your stuff this month.

That’s because you would have added another “layer” to what you offer.

In other words, you will consistently renew yourself. As a result, potential buyers will see the range of solutions you can deliver to them increasing in VOLUME, in VALUE and in DEPTH.

They will literally find it impossible to say they’ve seen all you have to offer i.e. you’ll never get stale!

And that will make them label you an unrivalled authority on your subject/in your field.

So a meeting planner (e.g. President of a Poultry Farmers Association) will conclude they need to buy your products/services, and/or hire you to speak to their members, to get useful value for their money.

They will feel this way because you will have a mass of useful value adding products and services (in dispersed different forms, via different channels) that put ahead of all other supposed competitors.

But if you don’t consistently innovate, you will not be able to create that kind of impression, or build such an image in the minds of potential buyers of your solutions.

Why Many (Farm) Business Owners Make LESS Money, Than They Are Capable of Making

Now, as I’ve said in many past articles on this website, 80% of the time, my attention is focussed on my primary target audience i.e. farm business owners.

It is my considered opinion, that many (farm) businesses don’t make as much money/achieve as much success as they can, is because they are too rigid in their thinking. They are too traditional in their focus.

They think they have to be like others.

I say this based on years of closely relating with – and observing – many of them as they do their work.

The truth is you DO NOT have to be like other (farm) business owners. Every (farm) business is unique. No two can ever be exactly alike. Same applies to the owners!

Final Words: You Can Generate Multiple Streams of EXTRA Income By Innovating Constantly

And that can happen in a matter of days from today – if you’re serious. All you need do is to add “Constant Innovation” to your business promotion arsenal.

Email tayo at tksola dot com if you want details…

I often tell my Farm CEO clients, that despite not being a farm business owner, I generate good income (mostly passive) by marketing a growing range of products and services to farm industry stakeholders.

And that includes policy makers, consultants, farm support specialists (like extension agents), as well as farm business owners and even their employees.

The solutions I create are designed to meet the needs I carefully identify they have.

So, they naturally come calling. And that’s what makes me succeed.

If I can do that, as one who does not run a farm business (at least while I’ve yet to open my best practice farm advisory services centre), then ANYONE who owns a farm (or other) business can do even better!

Can Lack Of Money Stop Your Marriage Succeeding?

Drawing from my experiences initially as an employee, and later as an entrepreneur, I describe the psychological challenge that confronts a person who runs out of money, while married – and doing business. I then offer practical for surviving such periods of financial adversity, without losing dignity.

Do you have a spouse?

If yes, do you think you him/her very well – intimately?

Would you boldly say you know what your spouse will or will not SAY or DO to YOU, regardless of how bad things get – especially financially?

For many couples, the correct answers to those questions would be difficult to predict. That’s the truth.

In certain societies, when people court each other towards getting married, one of the prime considerations is often the “net worth” (if you can call it that) of the other person.

Your friends, relatives, colleagues etc want to know “If s/he has a job; Where? Does s/he get good pay?” etc. If they like what they hear, they then congratulate you.

Very few will ask you if you love each other.

If you’re the type that needs others to “approve” of you, you might “find” a way to choose someone that would be “acceptable” to those whose approval you seek.

The sad result is sometimes that two fundamentally incompatible, but outwardly well-matched people tie the knot, and embark on what becomes a turbulent marital adventure.

I have worked closely with someone who frequently stayed out late, after work, just so as to get home when his spouse had gone to bed.

There were in fact situations where extended family members repeatedly had to intervene in squabbles between this husband and wife.

One thing that often tends to be at the root of this problem – whether the couples readily admit it or not – is MONEY.

I won’t bore you with any stories or details.

But if you think you know your spouse (or “fiancé/fiancée), especially where it has to do with money and its ready availability, I’d say…don’t be too sure!

My advice is that you try and get to see your partner at his/her worst, in relation to “lack of money” as soon as possible BEFORE you start the venture you intend.

This will prepare you for the worst.

Some people KNOW that their spouse’s “love” for them is directly correlated with the “ready” availability of money.

This knowledge is what keeps them from taking the “risk” of starting their businesses – much as they would have loved to.

It could be suicidal if you decide to go ahead without “testing”, and making sure about this for yourself. Assuming s/he will “understand” if things are difficult initially would not be a smart thing to do.

The books may not say this often, but many marriages have disintegrated during the tough start-up phases that a spouse’s new business had to go through.

The other person would have tried to share in the vision/endure the “suffering”. But somewhere along the line, s/he probably could not hold faith any longer.

So, the “fights” begin – the “tired” partner saying nasty things to his/her already embattled entrepreneur spouse – and they eventually separate.

When you read the autobiographies of some successful entrepreneurs, you’ll find that they never mention their spouses at any point all through the book.

The problem described above is probably the reason why…

So, I ask you again. Do you KNOW your spouse well?

Do you KNOW what s/he will or will not do should things get really tough in the process of starting-up your business? Remember that when difficulties arise, you will need all the support and encouragement you can get.

Be sure that the closest person to you is the type that will actually give you that.

The last thing you want, when you’re trying to keep an upbeat mental state, is someone telling you how stupid you were to have made this or that mistake.

Or reminding you of how the family could have been better off, if you hadn’t insisted on plunging all your savings/benefits into your “hair-brained” idea for a venture.

My purpose here, is to help you eliminate “grey areas” in your thinking about where problems will likely come from, when you start your business.

Oh, and by the way, if you also have kids, PLEASE make sure you set aside adequate funds to cater for them, all through the start-up phase.

If you cannot do this, then seriously consider waiting till you can. Do not jeopardize the security of your family.

A lot of worrying issues that you never anticipated might just come from the home front.

Believe me when I say I KNOW what this feels like. I have experienced SEVERELY prolonged periods of heartbreaking lack of money.

What I went through during those tough years of struggling as an entrepreneur, really tested my marriage relationship to its limits.

The fact that my wife and I are still together today, in spite of those experiences, makes it possible for me to write this piece!

You would be wise to get yourself well and truly forearmed.

Lastly, what about YOU? Will YOU be the problem in YOUR home when you have no money?

No. 137: Succeed By “Looking Bigger” Than You Are!

Size (in physical or financial terms) can confer “popularity”. So can appearing to be everywhere. That’s why I argue that making yourself look bigger than you are, can make your marketing more successful!

People – and organisations – that are popular, often get their offers taken more seriously, than those who are not.

After attending conventional school most people naturally seek the best possible employment conditions.

That’s why many would choose big, established employers over ones just starting up – due to the promise of better pay, job benefits…and of course the prestige of being in “the team”.

With regard to prestige, big name(s) make(s) it easy to be recognised/noticed or remembered (My Story)

Due to the massive fame of companies like Microsoft, Google, Nike, CNN, BBC etc, you and I would find it much easier to remember someone we met, who worked for any of those companies.

I still recall living in Benin City, over a 7 year period while employed as a well paid, and high performing manager in Guinness Nigeria.

Many times when I attended public functions, despite my deliberate insistence that the host NOT do it, I often got introduced as a “Guinness Manager”.

Friends/acquaintances were usually unwilling to leave out that detail mainly because they felt the company was a prestigious place, which would interest people.

Some people would often go out of their way to get to know you e.g. taking your number and calling you. In conversations with others they could say “Remember my friend that works with <Google>?” etc

If you drive an branded company vehicle, neighbours may take special note of you.

It’s just natural.

The same thing happens when you’re linked with a famous individual.

That’s why we hear “Oh, he’s “Michael Jackson’s lawyer”; or she’s the “wife of Cadbury’s CEO in Nigeria”;  “he’s “Lupita Nyong’o’s Best Friend”…or even better: “he’s Chimamanda Adichie’s husband”!

All of the above refer to situations and circumstances in which fame or popularity is conferred on you by association with a person, or organisation, or “thing” that is “famous or popular”.

It’s why name dropping can sometimes work for those who do it!

A complete nobody who gets a job with a large corporate multinational can quickly gain social recognition and acceptance, over a self-employed professional in the same field.

When you’re NOT associated with a recognised name or brand, fewer people readily go out of their way to connect with you.

Even fewer feel a need to brag about or tell others about you.

I have had the benefit of experiencing both sides…and this informs the views I express here.

A Public Relations Manager for Virgin Atlantic, compared is likely to command more serious attention and interest from journalists, than an independent consultant specializing in the same field.

But as I explain below, the latter can command more recognition than the former, by making him/herself look “bigger” than s/he really is.

Central to achieving the above is the use of the Internet, which has been accurately described as the greatest LEVELLER known to mankind!

I now explain using myself as an example…

After leaving Guinness, I noticed people no longer showed as much interest in connecting with me as they used to.

And that included even former colleagues, (supposedly) close friends and some relatives.

It was an interesting experience, which made promoting my products and services tough.

I knew making sales that stick (i.e. ones not followed by buyer’s remorse) would require building conviction in buyers’ minds.

So, I began exploring a variety of strategies towards building name/brand recognition.

Today, I’ve reasonably refined, but continue to fine tune strategies that have served me best.

Together, they now make up what I call my Customizable Web Marketing System (WMS).

The WMS involves using my website, blog, social media channels and other online platforms, in combination with offline marketing resources where necessary, as a means to propagate my marketing messages, via creative article writing and content generation.

Click here to read my popular 3 part article series on “Why You Need a Web Marketing System”.

It provides detailed insights into how a WMS can make you look MUCH bigger than you are, almost effortless, and at low to zero cost.

I am living proof that this works!

Email from one of many website enquirers who find me via Google searches and other websites

I’ve written many other articles that offer useful insights.

If you want links to them, along with a FREE 15 minute consultation to learn more, email me your name, phone number and country to tayo at tksola dot com

Today, a growing number of enquirers are finding it hard to believe that ONE person (i.e. yours truly) produces ALL they see on this website: www.spontaneousdevelopment.com.

I get emails from as far as Europe and America, containing phrases like:

“Please pass this message to your CEO”…

Some write in referring to “the guys” and “the writing team” of my website :-))

The truth is however that I am the ONLY employee of my company. And I ALONE am responsible for creating ALL of the content on it – and and no one else.

Everyday I share true stories on this blog, and in my weekly email newsletter, about how I respond to enquiries from prospects and clients/buyers from across the world, regarding my products and services.

In other words, I constantly create daily new content on this website, while delivering my products/services within agreed deadlines to paying clients/buyers within and outside Africa!

It’s not been easy to get this far, and that’s why you must have a passion for what you do.

I’m convinced that ANYONE willing to put in the needed work effort and passion will succeed too.

Final Words: As You Get Bigger, Your Increased Visibility Will Make Mistakes Hurt You More!

Now, this is important...

In working to make yourself look bigger than you are, you must remember that people only want to associate with something, or someone, IF they feel it will make them look (or feel) good.

Corporate sponsors waste little time in dropping individuals or organisations they connect with, who get into trouble e.g. a famous sports person caught in a scandal.

Also, many who “court” you may readily avoid you if they hear negative news about you!

You MUST therefore protect your “growing” brand, by acting with integrity at ALL times.

Do that, while taking steps to “look bigger”, and your marketing will ultimately succeed more.

If you don’t do that, making yourself look bigger than you really are, could end up HURTING – instead of HELPING – you!

How my Automated Invoice Generator Was Built to Solve a Real Life Client Problem

Last Tuesday, during a meeting with a Web Marketing client, a Jos based business owner called asking for the price for my mini Poultry Farm Manager software. 6 hours later – around 8p.m at night – he’d done a bank transfer to me.The next day he called and asked “Do you have software to generate invoices?”

I replied that I did, but that I’d prefer to fulfil the order he’d already placed for the Poultry Manager, before taking that on.

He agreed. 24 hours later, he’d downloaded the customized version of my app that I’d prepared for use by his company.

Yesterday, he confirmed receiving the CDROM containing the video tutorial files, (as well as the app) that I sent to him via FedEx courier.

Today, I shifted my attention to the invoice generator…

[NB: That is, after returning from the hospital with my wife and our new baby boy, born at 2.05a.m yesterday. The family is now officially a complete handball team :-) ]

How my Automated Invoice Generator™ Was Built to Solve a Real Life Client Problem in One Week!

I built this app in 2004, for a small business owner specialized in Computer Installations, Maintenance, Repairs and Supplies.

He had a team of engineers who served a growing client base of companies across the country.

One day, I was working on their premises, developing a Web Marketing System for them, when I witnessed a costly error happen.

One of the engineers was to transport certain items to a client company located in a northern state, from the Lagos office.

He’d done his calculations, and simply needed to type in the names of the items to be supplied, with their unit prices and number purchased etc.

With that done, he posted VAT, derived the subtotal and final total – writing the latter in words as well.

Knowing he was running late, he hurriedly printed it out on letter headed paper, signed it off, and left.

The next day, he called the office to announce that he’d made a major omission in the invoice he’d printed!

He’d left out one of the major items supplied, in the final computation on the invoice.

In addition, the accounts officer at the client company had also discovered a missing zero in the total he’d posted on the invoice.

Instead of N260, 000.00 he’d typed N26, 000.00 as the total amount due.

And that was what he’d written in words as well!

His state of mind at the time had no doubt made him miss what was otherwise a glaring error.

Efforts to Salvage the Situation Failed

For one thing, the MS Word invoice template was on the PC back in Lagos. To get around that problem, his colleague proposed sending him the file via email.

That seemed like a good solution to the dilemma, so he agreed.

Then he remembered that he did not have a copy of the company’s letter headed paper on which he could print the corrected invoice!

Long story short, it was eventually decided, that he would have to come back.

That implied considerable loss of time, effort and money. But without the correctly prepared invoice, processing of payment could not be made on the LPO.

After witnessing the entire episode, I could not help thinking a better way could be found.

It occurred to me that the template they used in MS Word would serve them better if hosted in a MS Excel format, and enhanced using intelligent formula, and Excel-VB automation.

So I told the CEO what I believed could be done. The benefits of having a spreadsheet based Automated Invoice Generation interface that dynamically adapted to the user’s needs were obvious.

He gave me the go ahead to prepare it – for the fee I proposed.

Over the next week, in between progressing work on the Web Marketing System for the company, I liaised with him and his engineers, to build the invoice generator.

By the time it was ready, we had posted names, specifications, and prices for various items like computers, accessories, consumables, replacement parts, services etc.

How the Excel-VB Driven Automated Invoice Generator Works

The app has in cell drop down menus that make typing of item names or quantities virtually unnecessary.

You simply choose what you want from the drop menu.

Subtotals, totals, VAT etc are auto-computed as you select invoice items from the drop menus. The final amount due gets written in words by the app – but an option exists for you to write it yourself.

The software is customizable for different uses.

For instance, a client database can be added where you post names, addresses and other information for as many clients as you have.

Then on the invoice generation interface, you would simply choose the client name and the corresponding details appear on the invoice – saving you time and effort!

I can, for instance, incorporate a floating data entry form (like that used in my Payslip Generator, and Ration Formulator) to make posting of entries easier and faster.

Since building the app in 2004, I have adapted it for use by a medical clinic client in Akoka-Lagos in 2009, and a Petrol and Diesel marketing/supply Client Company in Magodo-Lagos in 2012.

And so it was that a client situation created an opportunity for me to develop a new product that would add to my passive income stream!

Final Words: Request the EXE Trial Version of the Invoice Generator™

I now offer a limited time trial but fully functional EXE version of my Automated Invoice Generator™ at ZERO COST.

[Update (9th Aug. 2015): This EXE trial version is currently NOT available due to issues with the compiler I use to create limited use demos of my Excel-VB app. ]

Request the EXE Trial Version of the Invoice Generator™

Simply email me your name, occupation, phone number and address/country, via tayo at tksola dot com, with “Request for Invoice Generator Trial” in the subject line, and I’ll send it to you.

What follows below is a description of key features and functions of the app

1. The materials/services list and prices update interface:

1. The materials/services list and prices update interface

In the above interface, you can specify the names and other details for EACH product and/or service you offer.

This is also where you will specify your base or cost price and then add a MARGIN profit per product or service item you want to make, such that the Invoice Generator will pick up the DERIVED price or fee when you are generating an invoice.

The video tutorials, as well as guide notes provided in the application will help you get a better understanding.

Also, the interface is quite friendly, so you should have no problem learning to use it by trying to make some dummy entries.

The entries you make in the fields with red colored headers will automatically appear in the drop menus that are provided in the Invoice Generator interface.

2. The invoice generation interface:

2. The invoice generation interface

Here (note red colored back ground) you will make ALL needed entries for generating your invoice – same as you would do when preparing a paper version.

The required output will be produced on a ready-to-print A4 sized template (black and white) showing all your specified entries.

The menu options provided actually allow you – AFTER you enter data for an invoice to be generated – to also use the same info, with appropriate modifications to prepare for printing, a Delivery Note and a Pro Forma Invoice.

Client payment options (with corresponding charges) of LPO, versus Customised, versus Cash can also be specified based on you agreement with a client using a drop menu button.

See screenshot of the resultant invoice below.

Note that a special function that converts numbers to letters(e.g. re-writes 11,000 as Eleven Thousand Naira) is set by default to print out the total monetary value of the invoice payment.

You can simply type into the entry field provided for TOTAL IN WORDS in the invoice preparation template, to make the program ignore the function and use your own specifically worded total amount.

Why You CAN Succeed In Your Livestock Farm Business [Feed Formulation Video Series]

Quick Take-Away : This is a verbatim transcript of Video No. 2 (out of 33) in my New Practical Feed Formulation (& Compounding) Home Study Video Series. I explain background details about my popular feed formulation handbook, which the video series is based on. Watch the full video below. ===Starts===

So I’ll start by talking a little bit about how I got to learn about Feed Formulation.

And I think it’s important that I do that because today I use that knowledge and my expertise in that area to help farmers

Some have facilities that run into millions of naira.

I (once) had a farm (client) that had over 12,000 layers in production.

And so these are adults.

Most of them are graduates. Some of them have been in business for years. But the knowledge I use to help them in ration formulation is actually something I gained when I was an undergraduate in the university.

And that’s why I feel it is important to mention the time I spent with the Students’ Farm Research Foundation (SFRF) in the University of Ibadan.

I was (a member) from my 3rd year in 1989 till my final year (1992). And that was for 3 years.

I was able to learn by participating in the daily activities of the foundation, which involved the rearing of animals like rabbits, poultry…when I say poultry I mean cockerels, layers, broilers…

We raised all sort of animals. We had eggs we were selling virtually every day.

We would sell of our layers and broilers in the right season.

And we were self funding.

In other words the money we made was what we ploughed back into the business, to keep the farm going.

We never had to borrow. We didn’t need patrons to donate money to us.

Like people would do today. They say they’re students and they want money.

We actually raised our own money.

We used to have an end of year party every year.

And we actually used to give ourselves lots of farm products e.g. eggs, chickens, and we would even give to our patrons, who didn’t have to give out their own money to us.

Instead… many of them were lecturers in Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture.

They were much older than we were, and more experienced.

So whenever we had issues we could go them for help.

But most of the time we ran the organisation ourselves.

We kept out own purse. I was the supplies coordinator in my final year, and we never ran out of money, because we always channelled the money and used it for what we meant.

I did some basic book keeping which I learnt from my uncle.

And so we kept track of what was coming in and was being spent. I would take the ration formulated by the Project Coordinator, who was like the President to the club.

And I would take that and go to the feed mill, and get the ration compounded along the lines of the formula he had prepared.

And every time we had a problem with the supply of a particular ingredient, we could quickly make changes because of our knowledge of feed formulation.

He was extremely good at it, and he later taught the rest of us.

And we could equally come up with a different ration using some other ingredients.

Sometimes we would run out of Palm Kernel Cake, or Groundnut Cake or Maize. And we could use something else like Sorghum to replace maize.

And we always had very good performances.

Sometimes we would have disease outbreaks like Gumboro, and we would have to manage it to still make the most of our production season.

The point I’m trying to make here is we didn’t sit in our classrooms expecting miracles to happen.

We got out and got our hands dirty.

So anybody who runs a farm business will have to have the same attitude, and understand that if we as students could have done it, and had a profitable enterprise that we handed over from group to group.

I mean some people would graduate and the next set would take off…

I don’t know if the club is still there today, but as of then it would run year in year out like that.

And the business was profitable!

If students could have done it in a university, I believe that any adult who is running a real life business can succeed at it as well.

The core focus you should have is on lowering your cost of production, and the area where you have the greatest expenses is in the area of feeding.

That’s why you need to understand the science of ration formulation.

And you should understand how to do the computation. Understand the principles behind it.

Understand the issues relating to anti-nutritional factors. Understand how you need to explore the use of alternative feed ingredients that are lower cost.

And also understand how to use my Ration Formulator, the software which you have bought.

Because there’s no way you’re going to get this video series/package without that.

It all comes as one package. That’s the plan I have.

So if you can do that, then you can succeed in farm business.

And like I said…again, I’m repeating it, if students could have done it, as undergraduates in the university, there’s no reason you as an adult, already a graduate running a real life business, cannot succeed.

So in the next clip, I start talking about the ration formulation process, and what it entails.

Massive traffic jams all over the area made moving around to get that done soooo hard.

Near zero power supply has meant my having to force myself to do needed work with noise from multiple generators making my head ring – my work rate suffering badly as a result.

Honestly!!

Only the knowledge that my new product offers are bringing in much more sales make it easier to bear.

I still have a past buyer from Tanzania asking for payment details too (for my home study video), while a Kenyan CEO is working to repeat the bank transfer (for my Poultry Manager app), using the corrected domicillary account details I got by visiting my bank on Tuesday.

This rapid increase in orders for physical versions of my products is something I’ll have to handle more from Cotonou.

Not only will it cost about 40% less to produce copies, there’s also a lot less stress involved in fulfilling orders from that end.

Would you believe, I had to walk 2.5 hours from Ikeja to my home, when after waiting 4 hours from 4p.m till after 8p.m, the traffic jam along the routes failed to ease up?!

But in a way it was fun. I decided to make it fun, rather than let it affect my mood. And I’m always ready to push my fitness level higher :-)

However, the chaos, and extremes out here remind me of why I moved to Cotonou, and why once I find a willing property owner, I’ll move my family to join me.

As I began walking from the bus stop, 2 young chaps in their mid 20s to early thirties joined me. I’d told them while we waited that I would walk home if the traffic jam did not improve.

The traffic situation already bad for weeks before, due to elaborate road repairs being carried out, really peaked that day.

I would later learn it was due to the monthly exodus of thousands of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)’s members to their “camp” along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

I and my new young friends chatted about Nigeria, about corruption and eventually about our work.

This made our progress faster, as we walked. About 400m past the Grammar school bus stop, my friends found a bike rider willing to take them to Akute, their final destination.

We exchanged contacts, they left, and I continued walking another 15 minutes to my home.

The top of my Cotonou sewn native outfit was drenched in sweat.

My thick soled army regulation type leather shoes were completely covered in brown dirt from the long trek, making me shake my head in self pity.

I slept at 11.45p.m that Friday, after taking my meal and posting the blog article for the day.

Waking up Saturday morning at 7.30a.m, I watched movies with my kids all day (Jamie Foxx’s “The Whitehouse is down” is GREAT!).

At last I felt as relaxed as I’d wanted to be since coming down to see them!

A few days back they’d surprised me by baking and selling cakes without an oven like I taught them late last year.

I’d challenged them to do it as part of “celebrations” of the anniversary of my 1st year in Benin Republic.

I’ve been bragging to everyone about the zero oven charcoal stove cakes being made, and sold by them…and even wrote a blog article about it on Thursday:

Despite all that’s happened, I cannot deny that Nigeria’s peculiarly harsh atmosphere drives people to function at their best.

Apart from pushing me to explore smarter and more creative ways to get my work done, it’s helped me start my kids on the entrepreneurial path, towards achieving financial independence.

That’s a dream I’ve had since the first child was born, in 1999.

Having said that, I know it’s better to expose them to other societies, like Cotonou, Douala, Accra, so they can see that life does not have to be so hard, harsh and tough.

That 20 hour hustling need not be a way of life.

That corruption is not a pandemic there, like it is here.

That in those societies laws often work, social order exists, making it inevitable that wrong doers, small or big, get duly punished.

I realize I need to let them see all that, lest they conclude that the many negatives they see growing up in Nigeria, are “normal” and unavoidable.

And that’s why I’m eventually going to make them travel with me.
