Your organisation needs to market/sell your products, while building brand loyalty and long term repeat customers. What I propose below can positively influence your target customers, while also advancing your marketing objectives.
NB: See download link to a FULL PDF version of this paper (plus details of a Business Plan Presentation), at the bottom of this page.
What I Propose
That you sponsor formal Microbrewery production startup of a natural drinks range I created (fermented and non-fermented) using waste peels from Pineapples and other fruits, abundant in Benin Republic (and possibly Burkina Fasso).
The prduction process I’ve developed, for creating different recipes/forms (e.g. concentrates, “dried tea” etc) is to be patented. A brewpub concept will be adopted for production and sales.
Products will be available via in-house dispenser, and in bottles/other packaged forms. The latter will however only be ON DEMAND. Customer attraction tactics will include offering FREE in-house drinks via dispenser, for every customer who buys up to a required monetary value of snacks/meals.
Franchise to be sold to interested persons once well established.
My Goal(s)
1. To provide on-demand learning events (free promotional talks, and paid practical workshops) on how to make drinks, at low/zero cost, that you can sell using peels from fruits people eat daily.
2. To promote purchase of my specially developed recipes for fermented and non-fermented pineapple peel drinks. I also hope to sell my franchise using “concentrate” and “dry tea” versions.
NB: Scale of the drinks production unit to start-up will determine financing needs. However preliminary estimates and market survey I’ve done suggest “Micro to Small Scale” start-up 500 to 1,000 Hectolitres per annum. Tried and tested production system to get up and running cost-effectively already reviewed. Manpower needs are minimal as a manager with 2 on demand helpers will get most of the needed work done.
Promotional Strategy
1. FREE/Paid Learning Events on Drinks Production: The story about how I stumbled on the ideas to use Pineapple peels helps me get attention.
I plan to use short public talks to groups of my target audience to promote awareness about my products. This is a cost-effective approach that yields powerful marketing reach and impact.
2. My Excel-VB driven Quick and Dirty Guide to English-French Language: It’s to be 10 chapters in all.
The first chapter of my QDGuide™ is ready and my first sale made to a Cotonou based Beninese Medical Doctor. He attended English classes in CEBELAE (Benin’s National Foreign Language Learning Centre), and wants to improve his use of English medical terms especially. (A CD/DVD demo version is available).
See sales page at www.spontaneousdevelopment.com/qdg.html
My plan is to conduct live “public speaking” coaching sessions for aspiring language learners. This will get them interested in buying the CD/DVD based guide and related products. It comes with custom videos, audios, flyers, PowerPoint based annotated picture conversations etc.
In running my learning sessions, and on the learning materials I create and sell for the QDGuide™, I would include “adverts” and “promotions” for the Pineapple peel drinks. The drinks would also be on sale at the venues.
What’s the LINK between my Pineapple Peel Drinks & Language Guide?
I believe today’s African business owners and professionals will fare better if they become bilingual. So, by giving them a practical language learning tool, and teaching them to produce and sell drinks, I will help them kill two birds with one stone. This way, those who so desire can easily access English or French Speaking markets, without worrying much about problems of communicating.
Just like I do today!
Your sponsoring support in, for example, mass producing the automated QDGuide™ CD/DVDs, and other materials I create, would boost marketing reach and impact – as well as sales.
NB: From meetings I have had at CEBELAE, and with Dr (Mrs.) Opara of the University of Lagos, Department of Education, I believe this unique fast-track approach will attract lots of buyers.
Steps Taken so Far to Commence:
1. Burkina Fasso Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Visited their stand at the International Trade Fair which ended 5th August 2013. The officers tasted bottled sample and rated it high. They invited me to their Cotonou office to discuss my proposal to give my talks to their youths.
I did that on Friday 23rd August 2013 p.m. Initial discussions with the country representative went well. Potential opportunities to be explored.
2. Nigerian Embassy – Minister for Political Affairs, and Minister for Trade and Economy are both familiar with this project/idea and provide moral support.
3. Head of English Department of CEBELAE (a Professor) met me in the minister for political affair’s office, in the embassy, and took me to his home (in Kasato, that night!) to speak to his family.
4. Held public and Bar/Restaurant taste sessions in Calavi, Cajehoun, Lagos. Got good reviews on taster’s feedback forms.
Above: Taster feedback form filled by an accountant in a Cotonou Restaurant
5. Coached some students on Univerisité D’Abomey-Calavi campus.
6. Discussed with 2 top lecturers in UAC’s FSA (Agronomy).
7. Visited Songhai Integrated Farming Centre in Porto Novo, on Thursday 25th July 2013. Met (for the second time) with Leonce Sessou (key officer in the Songhai team) in his office.
8. He’s proposed inviting me to show them how to use the tonnes of peels (which they’ve only used for compost) to produce drinks (they currently only produce bottled pineapple fruit juice).
