In July 2005 I, met with the president of Ghana’s Pan-African Writers Association (PAWA) in Accra, about the use of Print On Demand (POD) publishing to publish international quality physical books at zero cost.
He agreed with the point I made that PAWA members could use POD to get print published to a global paying audience.
So he asked me to order a physical copy of my 113 page Self-Development Bible that I showed him in my online store.
Several months later, I sent a copy through a Nigerian banker friend’s Ghanaian colleague who had hosted me during my 2 week stay in Accra.
It was one of 2 copies hand delivered to our Lagos home by a family friend who’d kindly ordered while in his US base, prior to visiting Nigeria at the time.
Incidentally, that would be our 2nd attempt to order my book. A few weeks earlier he’d placed an order for 5 copies to be delivered to me via Post Office in Lagos.
They never arrived – even though we confirmed dispatch from the US publisher lol!
Back then (2005), debit cards did not exist in Nigeria. So I had to get others in diaspora to help with their crediz cards/paypal etc.
Things have changed a whole lot since then, and I’ve since gone on to help clients in/out of Nigeria get published in print via my ghost-writing based Print On Demand Publishing (POD) Service – using a debit card issued to me by a Nigerian bank.
And I’ve earned multiple royalties from sales of my books/information products in both physical & digital format in my online store.
Sadly I still see too many experts who can benefit from it, being unaware of &/or refusing to adopt Print On Demand Publishing (POD) to boost their brands’ sales & marketing efforts.
That’s why I talk about it in my on demand 1 hour talk about how a WMS can be used to achieve timeless marketing based name/brand recognition and zero cost sales leads generation.
