Some people speak (and act) in ways that impede their own progress, but often do not know it. So they blame others, or their circumstances. I explain below, how failing to speak (and act) from your heart, amounts to shooting yourself in the foot...which is why you need to STOP IT!<\/p>\n

The Need to Be Your Original Self... <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The header for this newsletter reads \u201cProud African\u201d (scroll up to see it)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what I am.<\/em><\/p>\n

My primary <\/strong>purpose is to use this newsletter to influence Africa based experts (including my favourites:<\/strong> Farm Business CEOs<\/a>) - to adopt public speaking to promote their businesses, AND also generate additional income via paid speaking <\/strong>gigs.<\/p>\n

To achieve the above goals, I periodically recommend they make Burt Dubin their mentor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Having said that, since 2006<\/strong>, when I launched my first online newsletter (The Self-Development Digest<\/a>), experts and professionals from many other parts of the world <\/strong>have joined my mailing list - and some have purchased from me<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The truth is I\u2019ve always added content to this website, with a passionate desire to have my ideas\/solutions, transcend geographical boundaries worldwide. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

As an Expert in Your Field, You Can Do the Same Thing<\/strong><\/h3>\n

And why not? Others are doing it everyday.<\/em><\/p>\n

Back in 2002, I was a volunteer tutor in a community based NGO that provided weekend Maths and English lessons to final year secondary school students.<\/p>\n

One day I passionately expressed the opinion, to a fellow tutor, that the web lacked an authentic African \u201cflavour\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n

Most of the content online about Africa\/African was NOT being authored by Africans. And I was not referring to news.<\/p>\n

Instead I meant \u201coriginal creative content\u201d. New ideas, concepts, philosophies in the many different areas of endeavour we were engaged.<\/p>\n

I told him I felt Africans needed to do more CRITICAL THINKING and contribute <\/strong>solutions that could move the world forward.<\/p>\n

Of course there were pockets of that happening here and there. But they were too few and far between online.<\/p>\n

He looked at me and said \u201cWell, if you feel that strongly about it, why don\u2019t you start something yourself?<\/strong>\u201d<\/h3>\n

I realised he\u2019d made an excellent point. And I resolved to do just that.<\/p>\n

So I began learning. And then I diligently applied what I learnt to generating content for my work both on and off the web.<\/p>\n

In doing ALL of this, I've ALWAYS let my heart guide me...<\/p>\n

And I honestly believe that has helped me succeed.<\/p>\n

Expressing my thoughts about issues \u2013 in my personal and work life \u2013 back when I was in paid employment, and since becoming an entrepreneur, is a passion of mine.<\/p>\n

It sometimes earns me both criticism - and some \u201chaters\u201d.<\/p>\n

But I prefer that<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, to the awful feeling that comes from being untrue to myself\u2026from NOT speaking up, or taking action I know I should take\u2026or from\u201dgiving in\u201d!<\/p>\n

Over a decade later, www.spontaneousdevelopment.com<\/a> (this website<\/strong>) offers useful information, education, and solutions, on my key areas of focus and interest. And I get visits\/enquiries from all over the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

As an Authentic Expert, You Have Knowledge and Unique Insights Others Can Benefit From: Are You Speaking (and Acting) From Your Heart?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s an important question. Think about it carefully.<\/p>\n

If yes, you'll be doing the world a great service, because your useful ideas will be shared with those who need it.<\/p>\n

Note that your \u201cspeaking\u201d can happen via your website, blog, newsletter\/articles\/white papers, audios, videos etc. In other words, even when you do NOT speak at a LIVE event, you can still \"speak\" via those other media \u2026to a potentially unlimited audience!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sadly, too many experts I meet out here, who can be powerfully influential in helping others this way, shy away from doing it. <\/em><\/p>\n

They doubt that they have anything worthwhile to say. <\/strong><\/p>\n

What they fail to understand is that as authentic experts in their chosen fields, the daily experiences they have already <\/strong>equip them to add value to audiences they address.<\/p>\n

You only need to have INTEREST, PASSION, and access to EXPERT GUIDANCE (like the \u201cInside Speaking Business Success Secrets<\/a>\u201d provided by Burt Dubin<\/a>), to achieve that outcome.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Many times you can even get started on some basic level, and later on choose to connect with a mentor<\/a> to help you effectively \u201cpackage\u201d a flagship offering you can \u201csell\u201d to audiences.<\/p>\n

Sometimes you may not even wish to get paid.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Instead, you may just wish to give back, by sharing what you know with those who need it.<\/p>\n

Whatever the case, the reality is that you MUST challenge yourself to speak\/act \u2013 from your heart <\/strong>- regardless of your fears, doubts, concerns etc.<\/p>\n

And you must<\/span><\/strong> choose to speak on something you have conviction about. It can even be a subject totally unrelated to what you\u2019re known for<\/span><\/strong>. <\/em><\/p>\n

The key here is YOUR conviction!<\/em><\/p>\n

Let me illustrate this point, by sharing the interview video of a famous boxer, who delivered a very entertaining, yet seriously ENLIGHTENING \"talk\" about a subject unrelated to his professional occupation. <\/strong><\/h3>\n

His name? <\/em><\/p>\n

The legendary Mohammed Ali!<\/strong><\/p>\n

This has been labelled \u201cLost Footage\u201d from an interview<\/a> done in England (I think) when he much younger. Using great humour, he speaks about how he learnt<\/strong> to deal with racism, from some people, even AFTER<\/span><\/strong> winning Olympic Gold for his country!.<\/p>\n

Think about it for a moment\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ali could have chosen to focus on explaining how he got so good at boxing to become champion etc.<\/p>\n

And no one would have complained.<\/p>\n

But he skilfully used the opportunity of the interviewer's question, to \u201cinform\u201d and \u201ceducate\u2019 his audience about the silly misconceptions promoted by a narrow minded few.<\/p>\n

Ali Was an \u201cEXPERT AUTHORITY\u201d In the Eyes of the Studio Audience...<\/strong>Like You Already Are...<\/h3>\n

In his case, he did not sabotage himself.<\/p>\n

Instead, he wisely<\/strong> used the \u201ccredibility\u201d he KNEW he had, to drive home crucial points he felt strongly about \u2013 to the multi-racial audience<\/strong><\/span> he KNEW could\/would end up watching that interview).<\/p>\n

As one commenter on Facebook said: \"He basically gave us a history lesson!\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

And he did it VERY impact-FULLY<\/strong>, but without offending. <\/em><\/p>\n

Amazing!<\/em><\/p>\n

Ali must have earned for himself that day, GREAT respect from everyone that was there, I'm sure.<\/p>\n

That respect would later have carried over into the boxing arena. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Even people who did not have any interest in boxing, would have felt drawn to him, and the sport, because of what he said!<\/p>\n

So, speaking his mind boosted his name recognition, and credibility!<\/em><\/p>\n

Among other things, you\u2019ll learn from that NO MATTER what people think of you, or do to you, it's wiser to let love, tolerance, and self-control guide ALL you do and say<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Final Words<\/h3>\n

As you enter this new week, I urge you to go out DAILY, and be YOUR PROUD SELF, no matter who you are, what you do, where you come from, or what you look like.<\/p>\n

Make sure you speak (and act) <\/strong>from your heart, at all times - because when you don\u2019t, you\u2019ll effectively be sabotaging yourself. <\/strong><\/p>\n
