Those close to them often know it. That\u2019s why the latter often express doubts or outright sarcasm when they announce their intention to launch speaking businesses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\"><em>James R. Cook, author of the Startup Entrepreneur, noted in his book that when people express doubts or scorn towards your idea, it is often a sign that you\u2019re on the right path. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">Now, we\u2019re told to get the support of loved ones towards pursuing our goals. An assumption is implied that those loved one <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">will<\/span><\/em><\/strong> \u201cbelieve\u201d we can succeed. But what if they don\u2019t? Those close to us can be blinded by their knowledge of our shortcomings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">So rather than give us support, they\u2019re may voice criticism, refuse to give material or other support, and\/or even go against us.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style46\"><strong>For Those Doubted By Loved Ones, The Words Of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burtdubin.com\" target=\"_blank\">Burt Dubin<\/a> (<span class=\"style20\">creater of the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.burtdubin.com\/tools\/177monthly.html\" target=\"_blank\">Speaking Success System\u2122<\/a>) May Provide Some Consolation:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<blockquote class=\"style3\"><p><em>\u201cHave noble intentions. A grand plan. A mission. An objective that makes a difference. A major difference. Something transcendent everyone you know assures you cannot be done, at least not by you. Many people who know you and love you do not believe you have what it takes to reveal the greatness they do not see through the prism of their misperceptions about you.\u201d \u2013 Burt Dubin<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"style3\">People often measure what is possible based on what they have seen or experienced. To them, whatever they have never seen or experienced remains impossible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">Only a few who have developed their \u201csenses\u201d to tap into the depths of their intuition, to gain powerful insights into the nature of things, think and act different. The key to doing the impossible is therefore to become one of those few.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\"><em>I offer 5 tips you can use:<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style46\"><strong>1. Have Unquestioning Faith: The Fact That You <span class=\"style20\"><em>Want <\/em><\/span>To, Means You <em><span class=\"style20\">Can<\/span>!<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"style3\">Yes. Another name for it is conviction. It\u2019s the first step really. Donald Wattles in the Science of Getting Rich E-book explained that the very fact that you feel the \u201curge\u201d to <em>do something<\/em> implies you have the capability within you to do it. This is a powerful truth. That\u2019s why Napoleon Hill wrote that \u201cWhatever your mind can conceive, it can achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">Purge yourself of any doubts - continually, until you\u2019ve trained your mind to <strong>only<\/strong> suggest the kinds of thoughts you want to you. You may have heard it said that \u201cthoughts are things\u201d. And if negative, they can attract the opposite of what you want to you. Do you have conviction that you can succeed as a speaker?<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">NB: Bear in mind \u2013 as Burt Dubin warns \u2013 that you must specialize in a topic that people are <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">willing <\/span><\/em><\/strong>to pay for, if you expect to reap profitable financial rewards.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style46\"><strong>2. Develop <span class=\"style20\">Mastery<\/span> \u2013 Learn Everything There Is To Know<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"style3\">Today, we fly across the world in metal planes that weight tones. Some decades ago human beings did not consider air travel to be a possibility. We send manned spaceships into space more or less at will. Yet, there was a time when those who dared speak of the foregoing as being possible were regarded as being insane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">I could go on. But you get the message. At every stage of man\u2019s development, we have had to depend on those who refused to recognize impossibilities, to help us break \u201cimaginary\u201d barriers and take quantum leaps forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">To achieve these man made miracles, those responsible toiled for years to develop knowledge and mastery of their subjects. And then they used that know-how to create new possibilities that we now enjoy today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\"><em>Do the same to achieve your speaking success<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style46\"><strong>3. Take Diligent & Purposeful <span class=\"style20\">Action DAILY<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"style3\">You have to take definite action on a regular and consistent basis to achieve your goal. Wishful thinking won\u2019t get you there. Verbal affirmations repeated all day will not.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\"><strong>A proverb in my language says: <\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"style3\"><p><em>\u201cEni ti o ba fe se nkan ti eni kan ko se ri. It reads as follows:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"style3\">\"If you want something you've never had...then you've got to do something you've never done.\"<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"style3\">In essence, you cannot sit in your chair at home everyday, just <em>dreaming<\/em> of doing the impossible. But if you do not give up, you\u2019ll make believers out of those who doubt you. And when you succeed, they will be your most fervent advocates. Not one saw the opportunity <em>he \u2013 Bezos \u2013 <\/em>saw at the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">Wisely, rather than listen to them, he went ahead, and succeeded in a big way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\"><em>That\u2019s just one of many examples of people who did what others thought was impossible. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">Since you\u2019re trying to do something that has never been done, chances are there won\u2019t be historical records of past achievements you can consult to prepare yourself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">However we do have a wealth of information about people who succeeded in doing \u201cimpossible\u201d things in the past. And Napoleon Hill\u2019s \u201cThink and Grow Rich\u201d, based on his study of 80 millionaires, has proven that the principles of success are universal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\"><em>So, read their biographies. <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"style3\">How did they spend their waking hours? And the rest of each passing day? What kinds of friends did they keep? Where did they turn when they got stuck? What mental attitudes did they have towards failure, difficulty and other forms of adversity?
