But his article woke me up to the need to be more results-focused\/creative and less mechanical in using them. A few months after reading it in September 2011, I'd reinvented my online presence, to reflect my new focus - and a year later, I was fully engaged in \"doing it\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">In April 2013, I relocated to Benin Republic and put even more effort into \"doing it\", to achieve my goal of generating more income via passive channels from sales of my products and services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Those who have followed my writing since that time will know that I've shared many stories about how I now earn over 80% of my income online based on the steady generation of sales leads by what I call my <a href=\"http:\/\/tayosolagbade.com\/sdnuggets\/what-you-need-to-achieve-web-marketing-success-4-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\">Web Marketing System (WMS)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Steve's article was one of the key resources I studied, to gain the practical insights I used to improve my WMS to get the great results I enjoy today.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style4\">In his article, Steve said he would suggest \u201cNO particular order\u201d for implementation of the 12 ideas...<\/h3>\n<p class=\"style4\">However, the results\u00a0I've gotten from making practical use of them to find new clients for myself over the years <u>convince<\/u> me that one WILL reap optimal returns by:<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">1. implementing Steve's 12 ideas in close to the order I\u2019ve numbered them in my mind map.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">2. implementing MORE THAN ONE of Steve's 12 ideas simultaneously.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style4\"><em>I will now explain what I mean for EACH of the 12 ideas... <\/em><\/h3>\n<p class=\"style4\">Note that I've grouped them into 2 categories<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style4\"><strong>Group A is what I call \"The Foundation\" and includes those ideas from Steve's list that I numbered from 1 to 6:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"style4\">If you want to generate sales leads with less effort, using less money and time, ensure you start doing ALL 6 as quickly as possible in the order they appear and\/or simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>1. Write articles to establish your credibility <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">I've been doing this since 2005<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>2. Write a free report for your website. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">I've been writing FREE downloadable reports for my target audiences since 2006<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><a title=\"Screenshot of PDF report titled \u201c10 Fruits You Eat That Leave Useful Peels\/Skins Behind.\" href=\"http:\/\/tayosolagbade.com\/boisson-tayo.html#\" target=\"blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/tayosolagbade.com\/uploads\/10fruits-flyer.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of PDF report titled \u201c10 Fruits You Eat That Leave Useful Peels\/Skins Behind.'\" width=\"400\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>3. Tie in auto-responders with your free report. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tayosolagbade.com\" target=\"_blank\">Visitors to my website submit a form<\/a> which sends the FREE reports via auto responder. I recently launched the first of what will be a series of <a href=\"http:\/\/tayosolagbade.com\/sdnuggets\/subscribe\/\" target=\"_blank\">Scheduled Email Auto responder. Courses titled \"Farm and Grow Rich\"<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>4. Start a monthly e-newsletter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">I used to publish a Monthly Self-Development Digest from 2006 to 2012, but now publish <a href=\"http:\/\/tayosolagbade.com\/sdnuggets\" target=\"_blank\">this daily blog<\/a>, THIS <a href=\"http:\/\/tayosolagbade.com\/sdnuggets\/category\/public-speaking\/\" target=\"_blank\">weekly FREE Speaking\/Web Marketing IDEAS<\/a> newsletter, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/thefarmceo.net\" target=\"_blank\">weekly newspaper called The Farm CEO<\/a>, for paid subscribers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>5. Write a book. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">I published my Self-Development Bible as a paperback in 2005. Since then I've written other print as well as digital books which sell from my online store at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lulu.com\/spotlight\/sdaproducts\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.lulu.com\/spotlight\/sdaproducts<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>6. Guest blog <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Steve is right. Getting published on high profile blogs can help you build name\/brand recognition, and attract potential clients.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>But to get taken seriously by a blog owner, you need to have some writing you've done, to SHOW him\/her. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">When you have a website\/blog brimming with quality original content penned by you, plus free downloadable reports on your specialty, a newsletter, and a FREE chapter to a book you published, it will be much easier for blog owners to BELIEVE that having a Guest Blog by you can add value to their brands!<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">By the time you send you offer in, and they check you out, YOU will have less \"work\" to do convincing them. That's what happened when I reached out to editor at Africabusinesscommunities.com, and I got 5 of my Farm Business articles published there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Some clients who purchased my Farm Support software told me they found me through my Guest Posts on that website.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style4\">Group B <strong>includes those ideas from Steve's list that I numbered from 7 to 12 in my mind map:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"style4\"><em>One or more of the above Group A ideas plays a role(s) in making the prospect take notice of you and\/or get him\/her into \"buy-mode\". <\/em>Take it from me when I say they can ALL be started up within ONE month. You can either do it yourself, or engage someone to do it for you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Without putting the Group A based foundation in place, trying to implement the ideas in Group B (discussed below) will not go as well as it can.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style4\">Let me now give examples to explain my thinking with regard to each of the ideas in Group B in relation to those in Group A.<\/h3>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>7. Send out a very narrowly targeted direct mail piece.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">When you send out a direct mail piece, you want to give yourself the opportunity to achieve optimal impact with your offer. That will however be a function of the believability of the message you send.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Having Group A in place is a powerful way to achieve that. Without that foundation, or with a haphazard version of it, your target audience may find it hard to buy-in to your direct mail offer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Put yourself in their shoes, and I'm sure you'll see what I mean.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style66\">8. Build a second website focused on your niche.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style46\">My <a href=\"http:\/\/excelheaven.biz\" target=\"_blank\">Excel Heaven website<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/boostyourfarmprofit.biz\" target=\"_blank\">Cost-Saving Farm Business IDEAS website<\/a> are both located on sub domains of my flagship website - <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tayosolagbade.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.tayosolagbade.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>9. Join some type of business networking group, or start your own. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">When you meet someone at a networking event, and chat for a while, you'll probably exchange call cards, other contact details. Chances are good that at some point later, s\/he'll get around to Googling your name, to see what s\/he can learn about you - possibly with regard to the service you offer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">What s\/he sees in the Google results page, especially what turns up when the web links are clicked can make or mar your chances.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>Group A's 6 components, diligently implemented, can make you look as credible, and competent as you want him\/her to know you are. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">The result would be that s\/he would end up giving you a call to take the relationship further. When you don't have that kind of foundation, and you go networking, you'll have MORE work to do to convince prospects to hire you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>10. Partner with professionals who have complementary services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">I've not had much success doing this, but I continue to explore viable opportunities to do it. Having said that, teaming up with Burt Dubin to promote his speaker-mentoring products to experts across Africa has exposed me to persons who nursed interest in his solutions as well as some of mine. Some have gone on to become clients.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">It goes without saying that having Group A components in place played a very important role in making that happen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>11. Join a trade association related to your niche. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">What I've said in 9 above, applies here.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">You will be joining with a purpose in mind. The question is what have you put in place to enable you maximize the opportunities that present themselves during your interactions with others in that association.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style4\">Having Group A in place gives you potential talking points you can subtly use to open sales conversations.<\/h3>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>You could say the following to a prospect:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"style4\"><p>\"I notice you have lots of knowledge and experience that can help others in your field. Have you ever considered writing a book based on your expertise, to use in your business marketing? My book on <xyz> has opened doors to new clients\/speaking opportunities for me. If you lack the time or training, I offer a ghost-writing service for busy experts that you can use. \"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>Since my Group A elements include FREE chapter preview downloads, and generic offer PDFs on my website, if the prospect indicates interest in learning more, I simply offer to email him links to them. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Putting Group A in place implies doing a lot of the thinking up front and creating content that will lead your prospect to the end of the sale process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>12. Give a speech monthly related to your specialty. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Even if you're offering to speak for FREE, potential attendees and meeting planners will want to be sure that coming together to listen to you will be a worthwhile experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">So, don't just go giving out flyers offering to speak. Others may be doing the same thing. Ensure that what you give out leads to other stuff you've setup that can help the decision maker pick you over others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">If you have the Group A foundation in place, including a video of yourself speaking, and a Speaker One Sheet(s) they can view, whatever you say in your interactions, will carry enough weight to get you invited to speak.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><a title=\"FLYER How to publish Your Own Money Making International Quality PHYSICAL Book in Your Field of Expertise: at Zero Cost & Without YOUR Writing a Single Word! [DOWNLOAD FREE PDF REPORT &\/OR ATTEND FREE 1 HOUR TALK]\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style4\">When you meet a potential client, it is not often that you get to walk away with cash in your hands or a signed cheque you can cash the very same day...<\/h3>\n<p class=\"style4\">Quite often it tends to take a while before you both agree on what you can do that would be worth paying for.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">What I've learned working from a socioeconomic environment, in which trust is not easy to establish is that having Group A in place can dramatically diminish the work you have to do to gain trust, and close sales!<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Think about it and you'll see what I mean.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Most clients\/buyers I've won over in and out Africa basically came to me 80% convinced about hiring me, or buying from me - after getting exposed to my Group A foundation. In the course of interacting with them, I then did enough to get them to 100% - and close the sale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">When some were not so sure (maybe at 50%), the Group A foundation I had in place was what I intelligently deployed (in conjunction where applicable, with Group B ideas) at various stages of interaction, over time, till they bought..<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style4\">Summary: My numbering of Steve's ideas does not mean EACH idea has to be implement <em>strictly<\/em> in the order it appears.<\/h3>\n<p class=\"style4\">There is plenty of room for overlap. Focus instead <\/strong>on adding useful value to what exists!<\/em><\/h3>\n<p class=\"style4\">Some experts are not keen on using their writing for marketing because they fear exposing their good quality and original content to possible theft<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">I can confirm that I've had to call out some website owners for using my articles from Ezinearticles.com without including my byline, or even my name.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\"><strong>There will always be content thieves lurking around. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">But not doing it at all is like to hurt you more - because then few potential clients will ever get to KNOW just how awesome your writing <em>content<\/em> can be.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">So, forget the negatives and focus on the countless positives that can accrue to you.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"style4\">On the flip side, YOU must also watch yourself. Never be guilty of abusing the work of others. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"style4\">Give due credit.
