And you'll be glad you did.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>People we celebrate for great achievements mostly started out believing <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">alone<\/span> in themselves. \u00a0<\/strong>We only begin to crowd around and chase after them, when they achieve fame by doing the exceptional\u2026or \u201cimpossible\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Many great achievers often <a href=\"http:\/\/ezinearticles.com\/?Why-You-May-Want-To-Rejoice-When-Others-Mock-You!&id=225133\" target=\"_blank\">endured rejection - and severe criticism<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/spontaneousdevelopment.com\/sdnuggets\/know-how-to-deal-with-people-who-mock-and-ridicule-you\/\" target=\"_blank\">even mockery<\/a>!) - from those closest to them. In order to keep going, some withdrew from their friends and relatives, to maintain the positive mind set they needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>NB: <\/em><\/strong><em>This article was inspired by the quote below (which I believe applies not just to writers, but to creative people who achieve greatness in general). <\/em><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Quote - Writing is a solitary occupation - family, friends and society are the natural enemies of the writer. He must be alone, uninterupted,& slightly savage if he is to sustain & complete an undertaking.\" Jessamyn West.\" src=\"http:\/\/spontaneousdevelopment.com\/uploads\/wajeed-on-writing.jpg\" width=\"580\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>It was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/wajeed.obomeghie\/posts\/621247947932981\" target=\"_blank\">posted by a Facebook friend \u2013 Wajeed \u2013 today, on his wall<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sometimes an unacceptable condition from an employer<\/strong> caused them to go alone<\/h3>\n<p>Like one who wanted an employee to forget his \u201cdream of inventing\u201d, and accept a promotion, so as to work on \"<strong><em>more important things<\/em><\/strong>\".<\/p>\n<p>That, by the way, was exactly what made Henry Ford (after consulting his wife) decide to quit his job in Thomas Edison\u2019s company, to pursue his dream of inventing a 6 cylinder engine.<\/p>\n<p>Note that his decision implied losing a source of regular income, that could have supplied badly needed funds for his new venture. But Ford knew he could not afford to stay on, so he left.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>In other instances, it was due to pressures from loved ones, sometimes spouses. <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>People s\/he expected to understand, but who rolled their eyes each time s\/he started talking.<\/p>\n<p>They said \u201cwhy don't you do something useful\u201d or \u201cget a day job so you can fulfil your responsibilities!\"<\/p>\n<h3><strong>People who achieve greatness are typically intolerant of such distractions. <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Creative persons (inventor, writer etc), know doing mundane tasks will not be the best use of their \"potentials\".<\/p>\n<p><strong>They may do them \u2013 but never at the expense of their dreams!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That's why they readily take drastic measures to eliminate distractions (including moving out, even if to live under harsh conditions), if they find it necessary.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Napoleon Hill noted that many high level achievers he studied got accused of being \"callous\", by close associates, because they did the above.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>He however pointed out that what critics (wrongly) called \u201ccallousness\u201d was in fact \u201cRUTHLESS FOCUS\u201d which enabled those persons \u201csuper-succeed\u201d! <\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>In truth, always doing what \"normal\" people want, cannot help you achieve EXCEPTIONAL SUCCESS.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For instance, there is (or was) nothing \u201cnormal\u201d about Michael Jordan (or Michael Jackson).<\/p>\n<p>Records abound that confirm those two men persistently subjected themselves to PUNISHING rehearsals, for consecutive weeks, while others were in bed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>They gave no close associate, or loved one, any room to make them break their routines. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No wonder they always delivered seemingly superhuman performances when it mattered most!<\/p>\n<p><em>But not every body is prepared to \"do that\".
