One day Brian Banks\u00a0was a high school football star poised to launch a promising career as a pro, and the next he saw it all go up in smoke when a former high school mate (Wanetta Gibson) accused him of raping her.<\/p>\n

That happened in 2002 and he served over 5 years in prison - for a crime he NEVER committed!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

But the story did NOT end there...<\/em><\/p>\n

She later contacted him on Facebook and requested a meeting, at which she confessed that she'd fabricated the whole story \u2013 but refused to publicly admit it, for fear that her family would be asked to pay back money they'd been awarded.<\/p>\n

Luckily, for Banks, he'd had the presence of mind to record her confession to him, and THAT was what the California Innocence Project, the organization that helped exonerate him, used to secure the reversal of his conviction on May 24, 2012.<\/p>\n

Ten long years. That's how long this nightmare lasted for this young man!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I feature his story in this issue of my Performance Improvement IDEAS newsletter, as part of my Stop Domestic Violence Against Men advocacy campaign.<\/p>\n

The story of Brian Banks is a perfect example of how a female can DECIDE to ruin a man simply by making a false claim, and succeed!<\/p>\n

I don't know about you, but reading Bank's story, I could NOT help wondering about the psychological suffering he must have gone through, BEFORE this fortunate exoneration happened.<\/p>\n

Banks had relatives, friends, colleagues and associates who would have looked at him differently when he got accused and ultimately sentenced to prison.<\/p>\n

I cannot help thinking that he must have repeatedly protested that he did not do it, while others rolled their eyes heavenwards saying \"Yeah, that's what they all say!\"<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I also simply cannot help but wonder how he and all who identified with him must have had to ENDURE the embarrassment and humiliation arising from his false accusation ALL those years.<\/p>\n

And I just cannot help but wonder if ALL those who heard that he got sentenced to jail back then, and who would have concluded that THAT happened because he was GUILTY of the crime the young lady accused him of, would EVER get to learn of the overturned court ruling that has since been given.<\/p>\n

In reality, many may not get to hear that he has NOW been found innocent - so they will continue carrying those WRONG impressions about him in their minds!<\/p>\n

And most importantly, I cannot help thinking that Banks LOST a HUGE opportunity to make it big in the NFL because of the action of this false accusation.<\/em><\/p>\n

The damage to Banks simply cannot be erased by this reversed conviction, or the media publicity given to it and certainly not by the $2m fine imposed on his accuser.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All of that is good - but they will not change what happened to him. It is my considered opinion that it should never have happened to him in the first place!<\/p>\n

And the fact that it did should enough cause for society to introduce controls to PREVENT naughty females from succeeding with false accusations in future!<\/p>\n

To think that he had to get a recording of her confessing to him in private, was how he managed to get his conviction overturned, and NOT that she came out to confess it willingly, really shows just how self-centered this lady was.<\/p>\n

The sad thing is that so MANY females in today's world are increasingly like Bank's accuser.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

They have this entitlement mentality, and will do anything to have their way. But if they cannot have their way, then they'll do whatever it takes to get back at you for NOT letting them have it.<\/p>\n

In a way, one could say men in today's world are doomed in the sense that if at any point, a female with the above kind of mentality happens to set her sights on you, chances are good that she will get away with anything she does to you - because society has been programmed to believe her over you, the man.<\/p>\n

However, as Bank's experience proves, we need to change that situation and put in place systems to STOP naughty females from taking advantage of society's protective systems, to inflict such vicious abuse on men in their lives.<\/p>\n

We MUST stop this current situation in which ALL a woman or female needs to do is to simply SAY \"He did it\" for the male person she accuses to be INSTANTLY considered guilty by the rest of society.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This is not to say that authentic cases of women who have been abused by men do not exist.<\/em><\/p>\n

What I'm saying is that their existence and the possibility of it happening is NO reason for us to leave innocent men at the mercy of naughty females looking for ways to use the protective systems put in place for women, to inflict abuse on men in their lives that they have an axe to grind with!<\/p>\n

A new generation of shrewdly manipulative and cunningly abusive women are using protective systems put in place by society to exploit males that are their intimate partners.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In other words, they are gaming the system and by so doing are making a mockery of the efforts to stop domestic violence by exploiting stereotypes about males being the only perpetrators, to abuse their partners at will while readily adopting the accepted posture of \"victim in self-defense\" when their actions come under scrutiny.<\/p>\n

What they do, they teach other women and their own daughters, who rarely know better.<\/p>\n

We need to fight and stop this trend. Our sons, brothers, fathers, uncles and other loved ones who belong to the male gender, remain at grave risk if we don't.<\/p>\n
